About Me
I am a caring, friendly, relaxed and patient person who has worked with children most of my life. I have been a qualified Nursery Nurse since 1998 and have worked in day nurseries, early years centres, schools and playschemes. Up to March 2012 I worked as a supply Nursery Nurse in Portsmouth doing day to day work and longer assisgnments in nurseries and schools. In 2012 I worked as a Nursery Nurse on the Paediatric ward of the Royal Brompton Hospital in London, which is a chest,lung and heart specialist hospital so all the babies and children
are there to have operations. My job role included supporting parents and babies, working alongside play specialists, nurses, parents and other nursery nurses. The work was varied but the main responsibilities were preparing specialist feeds, supporting parents and aiding play specialists and nurses. From March 2013 to October 2016 I was a Playworker/ Support Worker at Heath Children's Centre in Petersfield working for Action For Children charity. My role was to support families in different groups, signpost them to other services, set up and deliver activities around East Hants area, deliver parent programmes such as PEEP and IAIM Baby Massage and work within a experienced and forward thinking team. I love working with babies and children, i am passionate about my job. I can drive and have a car with insurance for business use. I come from a loving family with older brothers and sisters and have four newphews and a neice of various ages to keep me busy.
At the moment I am avaliable as an ad hoc part time nanny or babysitter during day hours and occasional evening babysitting. I am also a IAIM Baby Massage Instructor and can offer 1:1 courses in the home for babies from birth to 1 year old and I am a Home Help for Community First.
My Experience
Over twenty four years working in day nurseries, early years centres, schools (infant and primary) and playschemes.
Worked as a supply Nursery Nurse in Portsmouth and surrounding areas during the day covering staff sickness and absences, work on a day to day basis or for longer assignments (weeks-6 months). Worked with children aged 4 months to 13 years old. I am also a qualified Childcare Assessor and IAIM Baby Massage Instructor.
In 2012 I finished work as a Nursery Nurse on the Paediatric wards of the Royal Brompton Hospital in London.
Up to October 2016 I worked for Action For Children at Heath Children's Centre in Petersfield as a Playworker/ Support Worker. I covered the East Hants area and enjoyed leading baby groups, running parenting courses and supporting parents. In the past two and a half yearsI have worked as an ad hoc before and after school nanny for a child of 6 years old ,a before school nanny for a child of 11 years old, an after school nanny for two children aged 3 and 6 years old and an after school nanny for two children aged 4 years and 7 years old which finished at Christmas 2018. Currently I do babysitting work for a family in Denmead on ad hoc basis and I have just finished a IAIM Baby Massage course with two parents in Liphook and Clanfield. I also worked part time as a Retail Sales Assistant for the British Heart Foundation shop in Chichester for nearly three years finishing in December 2019. From April 2020- April 2022 I worked part time for The Rowans Hospice at their retail shop in Bishops Waltham as a Sales Assistant and I did some bank ad hoc hours in a local pre school. I'm registered self employed for IAIM Baby Massage & Care Services and currently work as a self employed Home Help for Community First on Fareham.

Heartstart Lifesaving First Aid May 2023, NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Children and Young People's Mental Health, Online Safeguarding Children Refresher, NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health Awareness. Current DBS May 17, NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care, Paediatric First Aid, Health and Safety, IAIM Baby Massage, Safeguarding Children, Fire Warden Training, Safety in the Workplace, Makaton.
PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector), Foundation Degree of Arts In Early Years Care and Education, CACHE Diploma in Nursery Nursing (NNEB), First Aid, Child Protection, 12+ CRB checks, GNVQ Intermediate in Health and Social Care, 10 GCSE'S and NCFE Level 1 in Interpersonal Skills
My Availability
Avaliable from March 2023 for occasional evening babysitting and part time ad hoc daytime work. Not available every day each week but message me your requirements and we will take it from there. I care and look after children in your home, the parents home. I am not Ofsted registered so cannot accept childcare vouchers but I have over twenty four years experience of being a Nursery Nurse working with all ages and a current DBS, and a driving licence with business insurance as well as twenty three years worth of qualifications and details of referees. As a self employed nanny/babysitter I do not have to be Ofsted Registered because I am a qualified and experienced Nursery Nurse but I'm registered as self employed with HMRC for IAIM Baby Massage & Care Services. I am fully COVID vaccinated.
