About Me
I am a fully registered childminder and also a member with scma. I was recently inspected in October 2024 where I was graded all 5's by the care inspectorate. My report is available to view online or by request.
I am registered to Provide funded 1140 hours through Edinburgh council for 3 and 4 year olds and eligible 2 year olds. This can also be split between myself and a nursery.
I also hold a svq3 in childcare.
I stay close by to The Royal Infirmary and Fort Kinnaird shopping centre
I have 3 daughters of my own aged 19, 18 and 15.
We have dogs, and an outdoor cat. They love children and the attention the children give them.
I have been a childminder for 10 years.
Children will be involved in lots activities Including arts and crafts, baking and outings while being cared for in a home from home environment
We love being outdoors and always out and about near and far to country parks, woodland walks etc.
Snacks/lunch are included.
Wide range range of toys to stimulate the children's imagination, skills and learning with regular toy rotation.
I have a large garden for the children to play in with slides and climbing frame and lots of other active play toys and equipment.
I also accept childcare vouchers and registered with the government tax free childcare.
My Experience
I have been a childminder for
10 years and also have experience with my own children. I also done babysitting for many years. I used to volunteer working with Adults and children with special needs. I have my sqv3 in childcare.
My Qualifications
I currently hold my SVQ3 in childcare, a valid first aid certificate, child protection certificate, ASL certificate, reading in the early years, infant mental health and food hygiene certificate. I am always on the look out for more courses to further my knowledge and keep up to date with current practices.
My Availability
From August 2026 I will have
Monday & Thursday 8-14 30 term time only
My Fees
- Childminding from £6.50 per hour
My fees are dependant on care required as I offer discounts for full days and siblings. They also include all food and outings.

Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing and I would not recommend this childminder.
Our son never settled despite several visits. From the beginning he became severely distressed before every drop-off, cried excessively, and even tried to run away when arriving. Whenever I raised concerns, I was repeatedly told this was "normal" and encouraged to continue with swift drop-offs, but I never felt that his individual needs or emotional wellbeing were properly considered.
What concerned me most was that after attending he repeatedly told us he had been hit by the childminder and that he was frightened of her dogs. I raised these concerns immediately, but they were dismissed without any meaningful discussion or reassurance. More than two months after leaving, he still becomes extremely distressed whenever childcare is mentioned and continues to talk about the childminder and her dogs in a fearful way. While I cannot know exactly what happened, these persistent reactions were deeply concerning as a parent.
I was also disappointed by the settling process itself. The settling sessions required my child to be separated from me almost immediately rather than allowing a gradual parent-supported transition, yet the fees began from the official start date despite him never completing the settling process successfully.
Finally, when an unexpected family emergency forced us to travel after only a handful of attended sessions, I found there was no flexibility whatsoever. Although we had already paid a full month's fees while using only a small fraction of the booked sessions, and I offered what I believed was a reasonable compromise regarding notice fees, every proposal was rejected and the matter quickly escalated to demands for payment and threats of legal action.
I understand childminding is a business, but I believe young children's emotional wellbeing, parents' concerns, and unexpected family circumstances should be met with empathy and flexibility. Sadly, that was not our experience.

We couldn’t be happier with Roisin. She always goes above and beyond to support our family. When my husband was injured and couldn’t drive, she kindly picked up and dropped off our daughter, which was a huge help.
She has also been amazing with our daughter’s potty training. Thanks to her friendly dogs and cat, our daughter has learned to be gentle and confident around animals. Her garden is full of fun activities, and she takes the children to the park, woodlands, and museums to explore new things.
Our daughter loves spending time with her and always comes home happy. We highly recommend her!

Roisin has been a wonderful, caring, and conscientious person to take care of our daughter. Our daughter loves going to see Roisin and to play with her friends there, as well as pet Roisin's dogs and cat!
Roisin is very helpful in terms of accommodating our routines for our daughter, such as helping us with a food diary, potty training, and sleep schedules.
One of the things that we find so good about Roisin as a childminder is that there are children of all ages, which is very good for our daughter's development.

Roisin is great and my 2 kids love her. They enjoy spending time with her, her daughters and her dogs! Roisin is also very accommodating whenever some kind of change is needed, for example around extracurricular activities. We have known her for three years now and there has never been a situation in which she has fallen short of amazing. Also, whenever they are off school, the kids get to visit all sorts of local interesting spots.

I was very skeptical about childminders at first, and Roisin is the very first I have met and she literally changed my mind about them.
Roisin is just an amazing childminder and person! She provides a very nurturing and friendly environment for the kids and my 4year old loves her to bits! Her family are amazing especially her lovely daughters! She has amazing pets which my son adores! She has an amazing house that is well equipped for children with it comes to providing a safe environment, for learning and of course for fun!!
Roisin updates you all the time too.
Roisin is very helpful and very understanding in the struggles of parenthood 😅 I was gutted that I might have to change childminders due to far school catchment for my son this coming August but Roisin saves the day again and offered to drop my son off every Tuesdays and Wednesdays! She's just brilliant and couldn't recommend her enough!!!

My boys have been with Roisin for 2 years now and we only have good things to say. The boys love her and adore her lovely family. She is not just taking care of them but also teaching them very important values as creativity, courage, respect, passion and compassion amongst others. We couldn't ask for someone better to look after them. She enjoys her job and you can see that in the first minute you meet her.
I would definitely recommend her, she's a gem!

Roisin is wonderful with my son and he loves going to play with her and the other boys and girls. He's taken to Roisin and her lovely family so easily and quickly as they are very welcoming. Lovely house and playroom and lots of creative activities as well.
Can't recommend her enough x

Audrey is a very experienced and caring lady and my little boy loved being with her 3 days a week for myself to work I would recommend adurey as a childminder to anyone as my experience with her was comfortable and enjoyable for myself and my son, she looked after and cared for my son that met all of his needs was happy and content to go to work knowing my son was getting looked after taken out trips when can and generally just being with someone he liked :) xx
