Important information for parents
I'm pretty sure this is the first negative review I have ever left, and I have thought carefully before posting it. My intention is not to attack anyone, but to make sure other parents have information that I believe should have been disclosed before choosing something as important as childcare.
My daughter enjoyed her short time with Roisin and had a lovely time with the other children on the outings. I have no criticism of how she was treated during the six sessions she attended.
However, on my daughter's sixth day I arrived at approximately 9:45am and personally saw a man and woman leaving the property. One of them then returned to speak to Roisin after she answered the door. When I asked if the house was also operating as an Airbnb, she confirmed that it was.
This came as a complete surprise because the property being used to accommodate Airbnb guests had never been disclosed before we entered into the childcare agreement.
After raising my concerns, Roisin confirmed in writing that the Care Inspectorate was aware of the arrangement, that Airbnb guests left as children were arriving, that guests could occasionally use the kitchen for water, used the upstairs bathroom, and might use the downstairs toilet during the night. She also stated they had been operating the Airbnb for around nine years.
I later found the Airbnb listing, which advertised shared common spaces, a shared bathroom, kitchen access and breakfast.
The listing was advertising availability during dates that overlapped with my daughter's childcare sessions, and one guest review even commented that "having a day care at home meant we couldn't sleep in the mornings." This was consistent with my understanding that the Airbnb and childminding were operating alongside each other.
As parents, we were simply not comfortable with our child being cared for in a home that was also accommodating paying guests/ complete strangers, particularly when we had not been told beforehand. We immediately ended the childcare arrangement.
The Airbnb listing has since been removed, but that does not change the fact that it was operating while my daughter attended or that it had not been disclosed to us at all. Once trust had been broken, we no longer felt comfortable continuing.
Every family will make their own decision about whether they are comfortable with this type of arrangement. I am simply sharing our experience so that other parents can make an informed decision with information that we did not have before enrolling.

We couldn't be happier with the care Roisin has provided over the past three years. Our son has been attending three afternoons a week after school, as well as during the school holidays, and he genuinely loves going.
As parents, there is nothing more reassuring than dropping your child off somewhere they are excited to be. Roisin creates a warm, caring and fun environment, and it's obvious that she really gets to know the children as individuals. It's equally clear that she has a great relationship with our son, and he absolutely adores her.
We also really appreciate the effort she puts into organising fun activities and days out during the holidays, which our son always comes home talking about with great excitement. He has made wonderful memories there and always looks forward to his next visit.
Roisin is reliable, kind, professional and genuinely passionate about what she does. We feel incredibly fortunate to have found her and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to any family looking for an outstanding childminder. Five stars are thoroughly deserved!

Roisin has looked after our daughter since she was 6 months old. Two and half years later and she has become a solid part of our daughter's life and routine and soon our younger daughter will enjoy the same. We reviewed all inspection reports available and were more than pleased with them and to get a space with Roisin when I had to return to work.
Roisin has treated our daughter like one of the family from day one. She has gone above and beyond to show her love and attention, including being a stable childcare presence in our daughter's week while we had a family health crisis.
Our daughter's day involves quality time with Roisin and with other children in her care, who she has grown to love. She has a wonderful mix of outdoor adventures, trips, and normal everyday activities and imaginative play. Her time involves being part of pick up and drops offs for the older children during term time - that helps normalise everyday routines and gives her a peak into her future school life.
We also understand the demands of an underfunded childcare landscape and the pressures work hours places on families - and childminders themselves. Roisin takes these in her stride to offer a quality service to our girl in spite of it all.
Roisin has always been kind, flexible, professional and communicative in her care of and updates on our daughter as. This is exactly the same for any aspects involved in running a caring business including contracts, ensuring updated paperwork, relevant checks, payment cycles, holidays etc. We are thankful to Roisin and her family and would not hesitate to recommend her care.

Roisin was childminder for my daughter for 4 years, since she was a baby until she went into P1. As soon as I met her I knew my baby would be safe in her care. My daughter thrived in her care and loved every moment she was there. Her initial settling in period she shed some tears (as you would expect) but Roisin reassured me and kept me up to date about how she was doing.
During the 4 years my daughter went to Roisin’s, she had the best time. There was always a fun adventure to go on, creative days when the weather wasn’t great and lots of fun days in the garden. My daughter adores Roisin and all her family, making herself right at home and part of the family alongside Roisin’s 3 daughters. It was her home from home.
I would highly recommend Roisin to anyone looking for a special, kind and caring professional to look after their child. I cannot rate Roisin highly enough, she is brilliant. I can say she goes above and beyond for the children in her care and was easy to speak to and her along with. My daughter is lucky enough to still get to spend time with Roisin during the school holidays and I am grateful and fortunate that this is the case. She is the best!

Roisin is quite simply outstanding. We waited years for a place with her, and it was absolutely worth it. We have used her for 2 years now for after school and holidays. Our daughter can find transitions difficult and sometimes struggles, but Roisin has never once made that feel like a problem. She has always settled her beautifully — there have been days when I've had a call from school saying she was really upset, and by the time she's been with Roisin for a little while, she's completely fine. She understands the school, she understands the children, and she gets it right every time.
The activities she plans are brilliant and really well balanced — the children get plenty of variety and outings without ever coming home overtired. Her communication is excellent too: messages from school always reach us, nothing gets missed, and we never feel out of the loop. She's also been wonderfully flexible on the odd occasion we've needed extra support outside our usual sessions, like a school drop-off at short notice. Honestly, I could not hold down a full-time job without the support Roisin provides for our family. I would love for our youngest to go to her when he starts school, though I suspect she'll be full — because she's that good. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

We couldn’t be happier with Roisin. She always goes above and beyond to support our family. When my husband was injured and couldn’t drive, she kindly picked up and dropped off our daughter, which was a huge help.
She has also been amazing with our daughter’s potty training. Thanks to her friendly dogs and cat, our daughter has learned to be gentle and confident around animals. Her garden is full of fun activities, and she takes the children to the park, woodlands, and museums to explore new things.
Our daughter loves spending time with her and always comes home happy. We highly recommend her!

Roisin has been a wonderful, caring, and conscientious person to take care of our daughter. Our daughter loves going to see Roisin and to play with her friends there, as well as pet Roisin's dogs and cat!
Roisin is very helpful in terms of accommodating our routines for our daughter, such as helping us with a food diary, potty training, and sleep schedules.
One of the things that we find so good about Roisin as a childminder is that there are children of all ages, which is very good for our daughter's development.

Roisin is great and my 2 kids love her. They enjoy spending time with her, her daughters and her dogs! Roisin is also very accommodating whenever some kind of change is needed, for example around extracurricular activities. We have known her for three years now and there has never been a situation in which she has fallen short of amazing. Also, whenever they are off school, the kids get to visit all sorts of local interesting spots.

I was very skeptical about childminders at first, and Roisin is the very first I have met and she literally changed my mind about them.
Roisin is just an amazing childminder and person! She provides a very nurturing and friendly environment for the kids and my 4year old loves her to bits! Her family are amazing especially her lovely daughters! She has amazing pets which my son adores! She has an amazing house that is well equipped for children with it comes to providing a safe environment, for learning and of course for fun!!
Roisin updates you all the time too.
Roisin is very helpful and very understanding in the struggles of parenthood 😅 I was gutted that I might have to change childminders due to far school catchment for my son this coming August but Roisin saves the day again and offered to drop my son off every Tuesdays and Wednesdays! She's just brilliant and couldn't recommend her enough!!!

My boys have been with Roisin for 2 years now and we only have good things to say. The boys love her and adore her lovely family. She is not just taking care of them but also teaching them very important values as creativity, courage, respect, passion and compassion amongst others. We couldn't ask for someone better to look after them. She enjoys her job and you can see that in the first minute you meet her.
I would definitely recommend her, she's a gem!

Roisin is wonderful with my son and he loves going to play with her and the other boys and girls. He's taken to Roisin and her lovely family so easily and quickly as they are very welcoming. Lovely house and playroom and lots of creative activities as well.
Can't recommend her enough x

Audrey is a very experienced and caring lady and my little boy loved being with her 3 days a week for myself to work I would recommend adurey as a childminder to anyone as my experience with her was comfortable and enjoyable for myself and my son, she looked after and cared for my son that met all of his needs was happy and content to go to work knowing my son was getting looked after taken out trips when can and generally just being with someone he liked :) xx
