My Experience

In March 2010 i became part of the team at Advantage day nursery in Surbiton, the first age group i worked with was 3months - 14months. I loved working with the babies at the nursery, getting used to their own unique routine and working around them and watching them grow into toddlers. I then worked in the toddler room with the 14months- 2years, during my time in this room i was given the opportunity to complete my childcare NVQ level 3. I loved doing my course whilst working with the children as it gave me hands on experience, i then moved to another age group and worked with 2-3 year olds, this was a very busy but rewarding age group, helping them get more independant and also helping them become potty/toilet trained. At this point of my carer i got given a temp nanny job for 3months before the family moved away, i looked after a 3 year old girl and a 1 year old boy. My duties for the family was providing excellent care for the children, preparing healthy meals and taking them to playgroups and play dates to keep their days exciting and busy. After the 3 months came to an end i was offered 2nd in charge in the toddler room back at the nursery, my role was helping my supervisor with the planning and taking charge when my supervisor was not in. This role went really well and i was then offered the supervisor role in the room. I over see all paper work and help my team to provide the best care for the children in the room. I now feel like im ready for another change and would love to become a nanny again. I am willing to become ofsted registered.
