About Me
Hello, my name is Rachel.
I am a very caring and understanding person. I am highly reliable and can communicate effectively with both children and parents. I am extremely hard working and like to put in every effort I can, in order to achieve the highest level of quality care I can possibly give to children.
I have always wanted to care for children ever since I was young. This is due to being brought up with a big family.
I have worked as a Nursery Nurse for 9 years, a nanny for 2 years and 2 months of a childminder role doing school drop off/pick ups.
Having experienced all roles, I prefer and love the nanny role - the 'homely feel' approach. I believe children learn best when in their own environment and having fun! This leads to growing up to be happier, healthier and stronger. Through playing and being able to be in their own home environment, it captures the real happiness and helps develop their own abilities and capabilities by learning different experiences and overcome any challenges that may occur.
I will help guide and support children with anything they may struggle with and also give them continuous praise and encouragement for positive behaviour. I also believe children thrive in having fun and enjoying their experiences is the key point to bringing them up in a better world.
From here, I had a mini break away from childcare to challenge myself by experiencing a new role as a community home care worker. I worked in caring for 4 years. I have also 1-2 years experience in domestic cleaning and have built up lovely relationships with everyone I work with - I love meeting new people and going out for outings and do lots of exciting activities.
My hobbies are:
- Photography.
- Keeping fit (Running + home workouts).
- Reading + I am an independent partner for Usborne so I run my own mobile bookshop called ?Bookworm Adventures ? . I started my business in March 2023. I like getting involved with local communities, meeting new people and more importantly get amazing books into children's hands.
I also run a babysitting service and have done this since I qualified back in 2008. I hold a CACHE Diploma in Childcare and Education - Level 3. I babysit for a variety of ages. Please do get in touch should you need any further information and assistance.
I have a full driving licence and have obtained this for 14+years. I also have had first aid training, which will continue to update throughout my career.

My Experience
I have gained experience through the CACHE Diploma course which include working in 2 nurseries (0-5years) and two primary schools (6-7years) prior to full time employment.
The nursery takes children from 3 months to 4 years old. I worked in the Baby Room at the nursery. The children in this room are from 3 months to 2 years old.
I run a babysitting service. The children I look after varies but I cater for all ages.
I have experience of working with older children too, as I helped out at Brownies and Guides. I was a peer mentor at secondary school. This has helped me gain a better understanding of older children and know how to help them, incase they are troubled with anything that they may have on their minds, or in some cases just need someone to talk to and have the extra support there if they need it.
My Qualifications
I studied at college - CACHE Level 3 - Diploma in Child Care and Education.
I have undertaken various courses during my time at the nursery. The courses are: First Aid, Child Protection and Food Hygiene.
I am Level 3 qualified, CRB check & I am an experienced driver with my own car.
