About Me
Hello, my name is Mariela, and I am a friendly, caring and Ofsted-registered childminder providing a welcoming home-from-home childcare environment.
I am married and have two children, aged 24 and 22, so I understand the importance of creating a safe, happy and nurturing environment where children feel comfortable, supported and cared for. I aim to make every child feel welcome and encourage them to learn, grow and develop at their own pace.
My home has a large, secure garden where children can enjoy outdoor play, explore and have fun. Throughout the day, I provide a variety of fun and engaging activities to support children's learning, creativity and development, while making sure they have plenty of opportunities to play and socialise.
I believe that flexibility is an important part of childcare, and I aim to work closely with parents to meet their family's individual needs and routines. I want parents to feel confident and reassured knowing their children are in a caring and supportive environment.
I also speak three languages, Spanish, Portuguese and English, which allows me to communicate with families from different backgrounds and introduce children to the joy of languages.
I live close to Sparrow Farm Infant and Junior Schools, making my location convenient for local families.
My aim is to provide a loving, safe and stimulating environment where children can feel at home, have fun and thrive every day. I look forward to welcoming your little ones into my home!
My Experience
I have been a childminder for 15 years, and looking after children has become something I truly love and enjoy. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of caring for many children and watching them grow, learn and develop their own little personalities. I love getting to know each child individually and making sure they feel happy, safe and loved in my home.
I enjoy spending time with the children, doing fun activities, playing together and helping them discover new things every day. For me, being a childminder is about much more than just childcare. It is about building trusting relationships with children and their families and creating a home-from-home environment where children feel comfortable and parents feel reassured.
After 15 years, I still find it rewarding to be part of a child's early years and to know that I am helping them learn, grow and make happy memories.
My Qualifications
I believe that providing good childcare means continually learning and developing my knowledge to give children the best possible care. Throughout my career, I have completed a range of childcare qualifications and training courses that have helped me build my skills and understanding of children's needs, learning and development.
My qualifications include an Early Childhood Education Diploma, a Diploma in Child Day Care, a CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Home-Based Childcare, a Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce, and a Level 4 qualification in Childcare.
I have also completed additional training in paediatric first aid, managing children's behaviour, developing drama with young children, treasure baskets, the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), risk assessments, tracking children's development and learning journeys, self-evaluation, child abuse awareness, and food health and safety.
I use the knowledge I have gained through my qualifications and training in my everyday practice, helping me create a safe, stimulating and caring home environment where children can learn through play, develop their confidence and reach their full potential. I am passionate about providing quality childcare and always aim to make every child feel happy, valued and supported.
My Availability
My opening hours are: 6am to 8pm,Monday to Friday.
My Fees
- Childminding from £7.00 per hour

I feel incredibly grateful to have found Mariela. Despite my daughter's additional needs, she has been nothing short of wonderful dedicating her full attention and caring for her with remarkable compassion. She also took excellent care of my older daughter, making sure both girls felt safe, loved, and valued. Both of my daughters adore her and eagerly anticipate the upcoming school holidays so they can spend more time with her again. Mariela is a person with a big heart and an exceptional level of professionalism; her dedication and genuine kindness have truly touched my family. I am honoured to know her.

I couldn’t be more grateful to have had Mariela caring for our son these past three years. From the very beginning, she embraced him with such warmth and love, and quickly bécame like family to us.
Her bilingual environment has been a tremendous gift, allowing our son to grow up fluent in both Spanish and English which has enriched his development and broadened his cultural understanding.
Mariela truly cares for the children like they’re her own, offering a nurturing environment that feels just like home. Our son has not only developed a strong bond with her but also grown more confident and independent under her guidance.
I recommend Mariela to any family looking for a loving, bilingual childminder. She has made such a lasting impact on our lives, and we feel incredibly lucky to have found her.”

Mariela is a loving, caring and reliable childminder with a very flexible attitude to support any parent and their child to her best.
My son used to go her setting on a part time basis and he used to love it. He is at nursery now but he still mentions Mariela and one of her sons often.
I would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a reliable, loving, caring and flexible childminder.
