Jay started her employment with us in November 2012 as a nanny for our two children, who were then just one and two and a half. She was employed to work two days per week between 9.00am and 6.00pm.

From the outset, we had complete confidence in Jay’s ability to provide a loving and nurturing environment for our children. She was very warm with the children on first meeting and they took to her immediately. Within a couple of weeks, both children were excited on Thursdays and Fridays when we told them that Jay was coming to look after them. Jay is always patient and kind with the children, whilst remaining in control, and they love her dearly. I know that they will be very sad not to be spending time with her on such a regular basis after the end of this month.

Apart from creating a loving and nurturing environment, Jay has also ensured that the children’s days are filled with stimulating activities which aid their development whilst they have fun. Before she started with us, we discussed with Jay the sort of things we would like her to do with the children; however Jay came with lots of ideas of her own, including a wide range of creative activities and age appropriate activities in the local area which the children might enjoy. We have always felt confident to allow Jay to make her own decisions about what the children do with her when she is looking after them, because there is such variety and they always enjoy themselves.

Jay is a great cook and prepares healthy and delicious meals for the children. She has been happy either to follow our instructions about what to cook, or is happy to improvise when we have forgotten. The children always eat well with her- yet another thing we have not had to worry about whilst they are in her care.

Finally, since starting with us, Jay has always been punctual and reliable. She has also been flexible about changing her hours to start a little earlier, if we had to get into work earlier for any reason. This has been a great help to both of us and much appreciated.

Jay has been a real asset to our family life over the past 14 months and we are going to be very sorry to lose her. The reason for the end of her employment is that I am starting maternity leave at the end of January. If it was financially viable to keep her on beyond that date, we would! We cannot recommend her highly enough.
