Hello
I am a mother to a fantastic 15year old girl and a 8 year old boy. We have a Cockapoo puppy and live in a ground floor flat with a great outside space.
I am motivated,passionate and dedicated to providing quality childcare in a home from home environment.
My Experience
I have worked in childcare for over 20 years mainly in nursery settings working with children from 0-5 years,
I have cared for children 5-11 years during school holidays in play centres.
I have also worked as a nanny.
My Qualifications
I am a Ofsted registered childminder,
I have an NVQ level 3 in early years care and education.
paediatric first aid.
Home based childcare certificate.
CRB check.
Have attended many other child development courses.
My Availability
Monday-Friday
8am-6pm
After school Collection 3-6pm
I collect from Trinity st Marys school and Ravenstone in Balham.

Both my boys went to Sophia and her lovely family from 10 months to 3 years old. I have found her to be warm, caring, fair and very patient with them and with me. She has great integrity and I wholeheartedly recommend her!

My two girls were with Sophia as their first source of any childcare post-pandemic, and they absolutely loved going to Sophia’s house. Sophia always treated us with care, quality, kindness, skill, & most importantly—calm! She has a wonderful warmth and calm about her that rubs off on kiddos and family when having wear drop offs or pick ups. She helped our family through a very difficult transition period and we are forever grateful! My girls still mention her very often “we can see Sophia!”.

Sophia is a wonderful and caring childminder. Our son started with her at 11 months and finished when he was 3. From the first settling in period Sophia was kind and helpful with any worries we had, and our son settled in incredibly easily. She performed miracles in getting him to nap there! It’s a warm and welcoming atmosphere and felt like dropping him at a friend’s house: a real home from home. She did all sorts of interesting activities and playgroups with him, and he always had a varied and fun time. In fact he still asks if he could go back now, at 5!

We have a 10 year old boy and have known Sophia since his nursery years where she worked at the time. As our son got older she worked as an after school nanny for us until she set up her childminding business. To this day, we use her childminding help during school holidays and our son loves playing at her house. She is extremely reliable, kind, patient and very engaging with children, always offering a variety of activities such as arts and crafts, trips to the playground and Eddie Catz. We highly recommend her!

Sophia has been looking after my two kids after school for a year now, and they are really happy with her and her own two lovely children. They look forward to going every week (not always the case for previous after-school settings, by any means!) and Sophia always makes sure they're doing something fun - playing board games, making muffins, dressing up, drawing and creating, playing outside in the garden, or just reading and relaxing. She also takes them to the playground on sunny days, and sometimes to the library. She takes feedback on board and is always cheerful, calm, kind, and a pleasure to be around. Due to my working hours changing, I probably won't need childcare in the next school year, and the children and I will be sad not to have her as a childminder. So if you need childcare, snap her up! She is fantastic.
