I am a confident, fun, loving, enthusiastic, firm but fair Nanny who has a genuine passion for working with children and helping them to develop throughout their childhood.
When working with children, I provide a fun, safe, supportive and stimulating environment in order for them to achieve their full potential. I design age appropriate activities which help them to further develop in all areas.
I place a strong emphasis on child safety and providing healthy, balanced meals. I believe in ensuring that children understand what is right and wrong and that the disciplining environment reflects that of the parents wishes. I find that explanation and distraction are good tools.
I have a strong work ethic and am completely dedicated to my vocation as a Nanny. I have a set of excellent references available on request.
My Experience
I have 17 years Nannying experience with children aged newborn - 11 years. My duties have been similar in all of these roles and have included:
Planning the children's weekly diaries to ensure a mix of educational, age appropriate indoor and outdoor activities throughout the week
Designing creative, interesting activities to promote each area of the children's development
Helping children to attain their next major milestones including: numbers, letters, crawling, walking, weaning and potty training
Proxy parenting while the family are away
Travelling abroad with the children both with and without their parents.
School runs
Arranging and taking the children to doctor / dentist / opticians
Implementing the children's daily routines including nap times and meal times
Arranging and hosting play dates
Ensuring homework is done
Ensuring each child has the correct equipment for each school day
Planning and cooking weekly healthy balanced menus
Family food shopping

Sterilizing baby equipment
bathing the children and settling them to sleep
Voluntary work
In September 2012, I went with Projects abroad, on a volunteer program to volunteer in a kindergarten in Fiji. The class sizes here were very big with 40 children per session, so the children appreciated the extra 1 -1 attention I was able to give them. My role here was to help teach the children to count, learn their alphabet and about health and safety using fun educational activities. I had created and brought these activities from England.
Work experience
I have gained work experience in many different schools and nurseries as part of my Childcare Diploma.
My Qualifications
I have a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education, Paediatric First Aid certificate, Enhanced DBS, nanny insurance and hold a Full UK Driving license. I also have excellent references available on request.

Alice Lane is currently our nanny she joined us in September 2011 and works term time only. 7.15am to 5.30pm.
Her duties include but not limited to :
Waking the children up and providing breakfast
School run
Providing healthy nutritious meals for lunch and dinner (including lunch box)
Keeping work areas clean (kitchen, bedrooms, bathroom)
Washing the childrens’ clothes, hanging, sorting, folding and putting away.
Taking the children to social activities, play dates, afterschool clubs etc.
Alice Lane is an effective nanny who clearly enjoys looking after children. She is happy, outgoing and very reliable. Furthermore, she is punctual and is very accommodating to working late at short notice.
She is very caring toward the children; you can tell from the way she speaks to them, her body language and her frequent contact of hugs and kisses demonstrates her vocation for the job. Alice has a positive bubbly outlook and is very good at asking questions, using her initiative and problem solving on a daily basis.
A diary is kept and documents the day, its also used as a method of communication between the two of us, as we don’t get a lot of time in the mornings for personal updates.
Alice has a very likable character and she tries very hard to please. She takes on board new ideas and executes them to the best of her ability. She actively looks up and researches new options in her own time. She has energy and enthusiasm.
Alice has had one sick day. She has come into work feeling unwell several times and her loyalty to the job has not gone unnoticed. Alice understands her part in the family. She is committed.
It’s time for Alice to move on, she has with out question enriched the lives of our children, and we will miss her in our family. She will no doubt be a very special nanny to the right family- I know my daughter will miss Alice “the nanny who gives the best hugs in the worldâ€.
