About Me
I have two daughters, Chloe (October 2009) and Gracie (January 2013). My girls are very sociable, caring little girls who get along with everybody and enjoy welcoming new children into our home.
I work with my partner, Geoff, as my assistant, he has all of the appropriate paperwork and training which is available to view during a visit. All the children love having him here and he loves leading all the messy, crafty activities.
I have worked in childcare for 16 years including two private nurseries where i trained for and received my NVQ3 in Childcare and as a deputy manager in a local preschool. I am now a fully qualified, registered childminder and trained on the current curriculum and Ofsted standards.
The house is fully child friendly and full of toys and stimulating equipment for all ages, with areas available for naps if and when needed. We have a good size garden with toys and equipment for all ages including a trampoline and slide.
I live near several parks and an indoor activity centre which we visit regularly.
I have a five star food hygiene rating and I provide a wide range of filling and healthy meals (included in fees).
We have 2 pets, a house rabbit and a dog. They are both kept in a separate part of the house during my working hours and will never come into contact with any minded children. My dog is a specially trained guard dog and is very friendly, both pets are fully vaccinated.
My Experience
Before becoming a childminder I worked in two different nurseries in Reading. While in the nursery I helped with all the age groups and abilities and I did planning and observations for all ages.
I have my own children and have experience in looking after friends children on a regular basis.
I decided to do my childminding training as I would like to provide a home from home experience for children and more of a one on one environment that a nursery can't always provide.
My Qualifications
I am fully qualified for childminding and am OFSTED registered.
I have a qualification (NVQ3) in child care and development.
I have a current first aid certificate
I have done the Safeguarding Children course and gained a certificate.
I have an up to date CRB check
My Availability
My hours are Monday- Friday from 8.00am- 6.00pm (flexibility is available in some cases)
I offer full and part time spaces as well as Breakfast/ After school clubs and holiday clubs (dependent on availability)
I have availability for 30 hours funded childcare.
My daughters attend Churchend primary School and finish at 3.15 so I will only be able to do school runs to this school.
My Fees
- Childminding from £5.50 per hour
I charge £5.50 an hour, this includes all meals, snacks, milk and other drinks, as well as any activities or outings.
I do not provide formula milk or nappies. Please message me for details.

Harriet is a fantastic childminder, and I highly recommend her!
Harriet welcomed my son into not just her home as his childminder but also into her family. Her girls are so lovely and caring and quite clearly take after their mum! My son is 2 and a half and settled with Harriet straight away with no issues, he loves going in the morning and often doesn’t want to leave when I pick him up!
Harriet really does offer a home from home environment and is kind, caring, understanding and patient. She has a great range of toys, games and takes my son to local groups and they do lovely arts and crafts.
