About Me
Hello,my name is Miriam Kelly and i live in Stacksteads along with my husband John.
I have been a registered chldminder for the last 26 years and have 3 grown up children and have just become a Grandma.
My Experience
My latest rating from Ofsted was good and have been a childminder for 26 years and cared for many children from 6 months to school age. I can pick up children attending school at Holy Trinity, Holy Trinity Nursery . During the day i help run and attend my local toddler and childminder group, I attend play centres, the local park and the library. I can provide references from parents of previous and present children and can offer 2 3 and 4yr old funding'

If you are looking for a second home for your children, where when you go to collect them you have to drag them out the door, then you've come to the right place.
My two children now aged nearly 11 and nearly 9 started attending Miriam's when they started Reception and year 3. I've asked them what I should write so here is straight from the horse's mouth so to speak. They love going to Miriam's and love Miriam and Johnny too along with the other children they get to see there. They currently attend a couple of nights at after school club and although they enjoy it, they prefer Miriam's. They say after school club feels like a long day whereas going to Miriam's is like coming home. Yes they do a bit of homework and Miriam has plenty of activities planned for them to do, but when they are tired or not feeling great they can curl up watch something, play a game, they feel like they are able to relax just as they do at home. Most importantly they genuinely feel and know that Miriam cares about them, they love how she takes an interest in what they're doing and has her own reward incentives and knows them.
From a Mum's view I love that Miriam does know and genuinely care about my children. I know that they are safe and happy when they are with her. Most importantly I love how she mirrors our home environment, she has high behaviour standards and all children are expected to treat each other with respect and Miriam is a great role model for them. As a mum and now grandma herself Miriam completely understands my children and their ups and downs and has been a great support for them emotionally, she helps to guide them on the bad days and focuses on their strengths.
From a work stance I couldn't do it without her, Miriam is flexible and accommodates our needs as much as she can, to be fair she goes above and beyond!
If you want an extra three hours of school for your child at the end of an already long day then this is not for you, but if you want somewhere that you know your children are safe, happy, supported and where they are treated as an extended family member then you will not be disappointed, my children wouldn't go anywhere else!
