Hello and welcome!
My name is Linda O'Brien and I am an OFSTED registered childminder based in Tytherington, Macclesfield.
I have been childminding since September 2012 and have spent over 13 years providing high-quality childcare for local families. During that time I have had the privilege of caring for many wonderful children, supporting them through important stages of their development and helping them grow into confident, happy and independent young people.
I live with my husband Matt and our three children, aged 15, 14 and 12. We also have four friendly family dogs: Alfie, Lucy, Robson and Millie, who are all well-socialised and accustomed to being around children.
My aim is to provide a safe, caring and nurturing home-from-home environment where children feel valued, secure and able to learn through play. Every child is treated as an individual and encouraged to develop at their own pace through a wide range of activities linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Children in my care enjoy:
• A warm, family-focused home environment
• A dedicated playroom filled with age-appropriate resources
• Daily opportunities for learning through play
• Creative activities including arts, crafts, baking and messy play
• Outdoor play and physical development activities
• Visits to local parks, libraries, toddler groups and community activities
• Support to develop confidence, independence and social skills
• Regular observations and progress tracking in line with the EYFS
I work closely with parents to ensure every child receives consistent support both at home and within my setting. Building strong relationships with families is incredibly important to me and many of the families I have worked with over the years remain in touch long after their children have moved on.
I am passionate about providing a happy, stimulating and secure environment where children can thrive and reach their full potential.
Please feel free to get in touch if you would like to discuss your childcare requirements or arrange a visit. I would love to hear from you.
My Experience
I have been a registered childminder since September 2012 and have over 13 years of hands-on childcare experience caring for children from birth through to secondary school age.
Throughout my childminding career I have supported children with a wide range of personalities, abilities and individual needs, helping them develop confidence, independence and a love of learning.
I have successfully cared for many children from infancy right through to school age, building strong relationships with both children and their families.
I am proud to have received a 'Good' judgement at both of my OFSTED inspections and remain committed to maintaining high standards of care, safeguarding and early years education.
My experience includes:
• Caring for children from birth to 14 years
• Supporting children's learning and development through the EYFS
• School drop-offs and collections
• Wraparound childcare
• Working in partnership with parents and other professionals
• Supporting children's emotional wellbeing and confidence
• Planning activities tailored to children's interests and developmental stages
Many of my families come through personal recommendation, and I am extremely grateful for the lovely reviews and testimonials that parents have kindly shared over the years.
I regularly undertake training to ensure my knowledge remains current and that I continue to provide the highest standard of care possible.

My twins have been going to Linda’s since they were 12 months old and are still going now they are 3 years old. They speak so fondly of Linda and Connie and look forward to the days that they go in. They are always greeted with the warmest welcome and run in with excitement. This puts me at such ease knowing that they are happy and properly cared for while my husband and I are at work. Couldn’t recommend Linda enough.

Fred, our little boy has been going to Linda's childminding since he was around 10months old, he is now 3 and still absolutely loving it. Fred always talks about Linda, Connie and the doggies and looks forward to going every week. Fred was come on leaps and bounds since being with Linda and has made lots of friends. I work shifts and Linda has always been really accommadating with this, allowing me to book Fred's sessions to suit my shifts and swapping/changing days if needed. Linda's is like a home away from home for Fred and although we've got a while until he starts school, we will be gutted when it's time for him to leave.

Warm and nurturing space to leave your most precious child. Linda is loving and kind, they did great activities, it felt more like we were leaving our child with our parents, rather than a business. Linda was also very flexible and accommodating. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to take our child. We are very grateful for linda and her mum for caring for our son.

We sent our daughter, Margot to Linda's childminding 3.5 years ago when she was just 10 months old and we're so very glad we did. Linda and Nanny Connie became a second family to her, welcoming her warmly with affection and exciting play everyday. This was all throughout COVID when everyone was hypersensitive and nervous and yet Linda made the whole process very safe and easy. I highly recommend sending your child, especially in those younger years when you want to know your child is in a happy, family environment.

Our son was with Linda from 9 months until age 3. Linda made him, and us, feel so comfortable straight away and he enjoyed going every day, which is such a relief as parents.
She creates a fun and home like environment with lots of learning opportunities. She encourages friendships and promotes kindness in the children. She is incredibly patient, caring and warm and gives her all to the children in her care.
We feel very lucky that we found Linda!

My little boy Cole started with Linda when he was 10 months old - as he was born in lockdown he'd had very little contact with other people and I was initially very nervous about him being able to settle with someone else. Linda put me at ease straight away and within a week Cole was happy and excited to be going to her every day. 2 months after starting with her, he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Linda undertook all the training from the hospital to help care of him, without hesitation and learned so much about his condition that I felt nothing but confidence in her ability to care for him.
Cole absolutely thrived with Linda - he had so much fun every day, made lots of friends and just loved Linda and Nannie Connie. He started pre-school in September and we were so sad to say bye to them and Cole still talks about his time there. I can't recommend her enough.

Linda and her mum Connie took great care of my twins who were 2 years old. It was their first time in a formal childcare setting so there were a few worries beforehand, but they both settled in much quicker than I expected and would run in each morning. They enjoyed their time at Linda's and the activities they did whilst there, especially around holidays and occasions. It was a warm, family setting and perfect for them to get used to being away from home and with other children before moving to a preschool environment. Would definitely recommend.

My daughter joined Linda and Nanna Connie when she was 18 months old and was very very happy there right up until she left for preschool this September. She absolutely loved her time with Linda and still asks when she can go and play with with her and Connie! The loving and encouraging family environment was ideal for Ruby, playing with children of all ages and getting out and about with Linda and Connie. I felt perfectly happy every day I dropped her off every day knowing she would be safe, happy and stimulated. She made some great friends there - namely Linda and Connie who she loves dearly. If you are in search of a nurturing, friendly environment full of happiness and positivity look no further. I would recommend Linda in a heartbeat.☺️☺️☺️

My son started going to Linda’s when he was six months old and stayed until he was 3!! My daughter also attended for a few months, we sadly had to leave Linda due to relocating.
I cannot tell you how special this lady is! From the moment I met her I knew she would always go above my beyond for the children she cared for.
Linda is kind, supportive, experienced, loving, approachable, friendly and so much more!
My children absolutely adore her, we were made to feel part of the family.
Linda is a very special woman indeed and we are so grateful to her for everything she did for Sam and Emmie.
Connie, Linda’s mum is also AMAZING!
A wonderful family :)

As soon as I met Linda, I knew she would take great care of my son. She didn't disappoint! She was always smiling and full of fun - my son adored her. He was very happy to be with Linda and her mum, Connie, plus all the other children. There were plenty of age appropriate toys for him, both inside and out, and she made sure they went out to the park often as well. She set very firm but fair boundaries but most of all, she made sure that my son was happy. He had no problems settling in, and would bound through the door without a backwards glance every morning. At the end of every day, he would be full of stories of the fun things he and his little friends had got up to. I would have no hesitation using Linda again or recommending her to others.
