My Experience

Over 30 years experience supporting families and their children from their homes, crèche, playgroup, nursery and on the poolside as a Swimming Teacher.

Cared for a range of ages and capacities; eg, new-born to 18yrs, ASN, elderly and vulnerable persons.

Being self-motivated, I keep up to date with policies and training on a Council and National level. Maintain child protection training for SSSC registration.

I plan, implement and facilitate age and stage appropriate activities in a safe, fun and creative environment. Experience in implementing Scotland's Curriculum for Excellence, Getting it Right For Every Child, etc with focus on Wellbeing, Numeracy and Literacy.

I practice a collaboration of nature and nurture, the child-centred approach. Attuning to the child's interests makes my learning fun and playful. This helps further extend their learning.

With over 8 years of relief work as an Early Years Practitioner with East Lothian Council i have worked with many different Practitioners in different state run Nurseries. I adapt quickly with change showing a can-do attitude.

Ran a creche for 2 winter seasons in the French Alps.

I have many years experience teaching children how to swim, building water confidence and improving swimming technique in a private capacity and at several local swimming clubs.

Can provide respite and 24hour care.

Experienced in many domestic duties, eg, cooking, cleaning, laundry, ironing, organising and basic gardening.
