About Me
I am married with 2 children - 18 & 15 years old.
We have 2 dogs, 2 tortoises, 1 parrot,fish, gerbils & Degus!
We live in a dormer bungalow with a large enclosed garden to the rear. There is a paved area for bike play etc, and a large lawn with outside play equipment.
The playroom has toys & equipment suiting all ages, and we are lucky to have a large kitchen/dining room for painting, cooking & messy play.
We go to the local toddler group on a Monday morning & Thursday which I help run. I meet up with other childminders regularly ensuring all the children I care for have a varied and rich choice in social skills & the ability to meet and make lots of new friends. We spend quality time in our rich outdoor surroundings.
Craft is also a big part of our weekly activities - helping children achieve all activities to their best ability and ensuring children never feel they have failed & are proud of their individual achievements.
There is a park in the village & lovely walks.
I have been a childminder for over 14 years and previously was a nanny. As a family we offer family based short break care for children with additional/special needs.
My setting is very much child/play lead and we all enjoy new & exciting experiences which each child & their family can introduce us to.
My Experience
I originally was a nanny after leaving college. I became a childminder over 14 years ago after our second child was born.
As a family we offer Family Based Short Break care which comes under the fostering umbrella.
I am very experienced in caring for children with additional needs.
My Qualifications
I have various qualifications, that are constantly updated. My highest qualification is EYP. I am privileged in the fact that i can access additional qualifications and training through Social services, which gives my an in-depth sight into training that is not readily available without the fostering side.
My Availability
I work from 7.30 am until 6 pm Monday to Friday, but can be flexible with these working times to offer parents the ability to access my childminding more conveniently.
