About Me
Hi, I am Laura. I have two children aged 17 and 11. I live in Brunswick, Newcastle upon Tyne. I am ofsted registered and currently enjoying being a childminder. I am passionate about children and love every aspect of childcare.I am fun loving, imaginative and very caring. Your child's safety and well being is of utmost importance to me and I make every effort to be flexible and listen to your needs and the needs of your child.
I provide a range of activities, including cooking, crafts, role play, sand and water, messy play and more. I involve children in the choice of activities and arrange fun outings. I ensure children play outdoors as they wish and I provide healthy nutritious meals.
I have a very homely and clean 3 bedroom house with lots of toys and equipment for all ages of children ( I make very good use of the toy library!!). I also have a lovely flat, secure and spacious garden, which will be accessible to children as they wish!
** I offer government funded childcare spaces for children from 9 months old until they start school. Please inquire for more details.
My Experience
I have been childminding for over 14 years now and I absolutely love it. I currently care for children between the ages of 6 months and 9 years of age. Previous to this I have over 6 years experience in childcare, working with children aged between 0 and 11, in a variety of settings including schools and nurseries. My most recent being a nanny for 3 wonderful children! I have also gained very valuable experience from my role as a mum.
I have experience working with children with Dyslexia and food intolerances (I am fully willing to provide food for any child with a food allergy or intolerance)
My Qualifications
-BA Honours degree in Children and Young Persons.
-First aid certificate
-Listening to babies training
-Training for children with Autism
- Food safety training
My Availability
Available for full time/ part time care and before and after school pickups between the hours of 7.30 and 5.30 (other hours are negotiable) Monday-Thursday
I am also registered for occasional overnight care. (I have a very comfortable spare bed and also a cot for babies)

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.50 per hour
£6.50 p/h (includes meals and outings/toddler groups) This is for any additional hours needed after funded hours have been used.

My daughter has been going to Laura's full time for 15 months now. She absolutely loves going and calls her "My Laura". Care is in a lovely homely environment with lots of indoor and outdoor play. They go on lots of excursions incl local soft play, parks and museums.
Laura is very flexible if my hours change or my daughter needs to stay later with very short notice. My daughter has gained lots of confidence and interacts well with other children; her speech has come on great too.
I love the daily diaries that Laura gives us, keeps me updated with what they've been up to each day.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Laura to other parents.
