HELLO MY NAME IS JOANNE ,
I LIVE AT HOME WITH MY HUSBAND AND 3 CHILDREN AGED 16,19,& 22
WE HAVE SOME PETS,
2 TORTOISES
NANCY & NELLY THE FRENCHIES, AGED 2 YEARS and 3 YEARS , NELLY & NANCY ARE FUN LOVING DOGS WHO HAVE BEEN BROUGHT UP WITH THE CHILDREN FROM 8 weeks old,
Children in my care are taught about how to be kind to animals and how to care for them, from giving the dogs a treat, and bathing and brushing feeding the tortoises.
We also have a pets small world box of toys and visit pet shops for our animals.
BEFORE CHILDMINDING OF 16 YEARS
I WAS A NURSERY NURSE OF 16 YEARS WERE I RAN A BABY ROOM ,WITH BABIES FROM 12WEEKS OLD .
I ALSO GUIDED & ASSESSED STUDENTS THROUGH THEIR NVQ IN CHILDCARE.
I HAVE ALSO CARED FOR CHILDREN 3MONTHS-5YEARS IN NURSERY .
AND ELDERLY PEOPLE IN A CARE HOME .
HAVING 3 CHILDREN OF MY OWN I FULLY UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF A PARENT AND CHILD FEELING SAFE AND HAPPY , AND FINDING THE RIGHT FAMILY HOME ENVIRONMENT FOR YOUR CHILD TO HAVE FUN AND LEARN THROUGH PLAY, INTERACTING WITH OTHER CHILDREN AND ADULTS.
WE ALSO ATTEND OUTINGS AND TODDLER GROUPS,PARKS,WALKS,MEETING WITH OTHER CHILDMINDERS, LIBRARY GROUPS, AND WERE ALSO A MEMBER AT MARTIN MERE .
I LOVE MY JOB AND ITS SO REWARDING AS I GET WATCH YOUR CHILDREN DEVELOP THROUGH THE AGES AND STAGES OF THEIR DEVELOPMENT,
WHILST LEARNING THROUGH PLAY AND HAVING FUN.
TEACHING LIFE SKILLS AND GOOD RESPECT FOR ONE AN OTHER .
EACH CHILD IS DIFFERENT, WITH THEIR OWN LITTLE PERSONALITIES WHICH I LOVE.
MY SETTING:
I HAVE A SMALL, NATURAL , RELAXING THEMED PLAYROOM/SLEEP ROOM.
DOWNSTAIRS TOILET
WE USE ALL THE DOWNSTAIRS, THE KITCHEN, FAMILY, DINING AREA WERE I SET OUT DIFFERENT AREAS, SOME OF WHICH ARE THE CHILDREN'S INTERESTS AND CHOICES.
WE USE THIS AREA FOR MEALS AND CRAFTS ASWELL.
OUTDOORS:
DOWN ONESIDE OF THE GARDEN WE HAVE A PLAYHOUSE, SANDPIT, MIRRORS AND WALL ACTIVITY TOYS (warm in summer)
THE OTHER SIDE WE HAVE THE DRIVEWAY AND CAR PORT WITH LOCKED GATES, (cooler in summer)
WE ALSO HAVE A TOY KITCHEN, RIDE ON TOYS, WALL ACTIVITY TOYS, CHALK BOARD, MIRRORS, PHONE , STEERING WHEEL, NUMBER LINES ETC
WE HAVE A PARK OVER THE ROAD AND ANOTHER PARK WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE, BUT I DO ALSO DRIVE TO PLACES.
I OFFER A TASTER SESSION, A SHORT PERIOD FOR YOUR CHILD TO VISIT BEFORE YOUR CHILD STARTS WITH ME, I FEEL THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR NOT ONLY THE CHILD BUT THE PARENTS ASWELL, MOST OF THE TIME ITS US PARENTS THAT GET UPSET MORE THAN A CHILD, I REALLY UNDERSTAND AND TRY TO MAKE THIS TRANSITION AS FRIENDLY AND WELCOMING AS POSSIBLE, SO EVERYONE FEELS HAPPY AND CONTENT.
MY DROP OFF & PICKUP POLICY : IS AT THE FRONT DOOR , this came into affect during covid, but it works well so I've continued it.

Both of my children have attended Joanne’s, my eldest went when he had struggled at a different setting, Joanne was so welcoming and kind he settled in straight away it was amazing. My youngest attends and has a lovely time and has made friends with the other children , he comes home each day telling me about the great things he has done. Joanne provides a very caring environment , has a great rapport with the children I can’t recommend her highly enough.

I have two children that have attended Happy Day childminding over the past five years. As our circumstances have changed so have the hours/days of care and Joanne has always been flexible and accommodating.
My daughter started with Joanne in 2017 after trying a couple of different nursery settings. She settled in very quickly and absolutely thrived under Joanne’s care. So it was the obvious choice when my son was also ready to start childcare.
Joanne develops play and learning around the EYFS framework and I am kept up to date with my childrens progression with photos and evidence sent home - in addition to the daily update recorded in their day books. She regularly encourages pencil control activities along with colouring, crafts and painting. Happy Days is an active setting with days out to local parks, organised sports days, teddy bear picnic, local play groups, visits to the library and so on.
Joanne plans a varied and nutritious menu and often manages to convince my son to eat things he would never try at home!
Joanne has such a wealth of experience that I often ask for her advice on all manner of things that inevitably arise with young children. She’s open and friendly and incredibly easy to talk to. I have been very happy with my children’s care and feel very lucky to have been recommended Happy Days Childminding those 5 years ago!

Both my children went to Happy Days childminding from the age of approx 10 months old and stayed until they went to school. A total of 6.5 years of knowing Jo and I couldn't of asked for anyone better to have cared for my kids. True home from home which is all I ever wanted. We knew from the minute we first visited that she was the one. They thrived there and learnt so much. They loved going and we were sad when our time came to leave. You won't be disappointed if you chose Joanne 🥰

Both my little boy's go to happyday childminding for 4 days a week, they started when 3months old and are now 2yrs and 1yr old. They both have a dairy allergy but it's never been an issue at happyday childminding and they are catered for according meaning they never miss out, even on party days like Christmas and Easter.
They love it, Jo is fantastic with them. They do lots of fun activities, attend play groups, trips to the park and much more. They absolutely adore her pets and learn so much. She is very friendly, nurturing and she has a wealth of experience. I highly recommend happydays childminding.
