My Summary
Self-Employed Nanny/Home Childcare Provider (17 Years Experience In The Childcare Sector)
About Me
Please note: I am currently unavailable for regular bookings as I have sufficient working hours. However, please feel free to message me if you are looking for childcare during the summer holiday period.
I am a fully qualified, Ofsted-registered, self-employed childcare practitioner offering in-home childcare, with 20 years’ experience working with children and families. I can provide strong references on request.
I am registered with Ofsted and HMRC as a self-employed Home Childcarer/Nanny and provide Tax-Free Childcare where applicable. I manage my own tax and National Insurance and invoice only for the hours we agree, meaning families avoid agency fees and the complexities of becoming an employer.
I hold a Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Pre-School Practice, with SEND training and experience, a 12-hour full Paediatric First Aid certificate (renewed every 3 years), Child and Adolescent Mental Health First Aid certification, and Food Hygiene certification. I have also completed a wide range of additional childcare training, including encouraging positive behaviour, speech and language support, and supporting children’s social and emotional development. I am currently in my second year of training to eventually become a child and adolescent psychotherapist.
I have an enhanced DBS and Public Liability Insurance - both specifically for nannies. I have good local links with toddler groups, childminders, schools and childcare settings in central Oxford and prefer to work within Oxford City (OX1, OX2, OX3 and OX4).
My Experience
I have studied and worked in the childcare sector for 19 years. I worked as a Key Person and Deputy Manager at the same nursery for 12 years, which was rated Outstanding by Ofsted during my time as Deputy.
I have 6 years’ experience as a self-employed home childcarer, caring for children from newborn to 12 years old, including long-term placements, nanny/housekeeper roles, and caring for children with special educational needs and disability. My longest-running role has been with a family of four children.
My Qualifications
Level 3 diploma in Childcare and Pre-School Practice.
Access to Higher Education (Humanities) certificate.
Level 2 certificate in Counselling Skills and Theory.
My Availability
I am currently working for a number of families, but I may be available in the future when their childcare needs change.

Beth took care of our 16-month-old boy in September and October as we were waiting for nursery to start. He really liked her and they got a great connection with immediately. Beth is very kind, always with a warm smile and full of energy and ideas, so there wasn’t a minute where she didn’t invent new activities, with our little-one’s laughter resounding through the house. She is a very experienced professional, and this was evidenced many times by the confidence and effectiveness with which she dealt with unexpected situations. Beth did everything to keep us and our son happy, and we have full confidence in her. She has excellent communication skills and offered us a lot of advice from her long experience and training, which we find useful until today. Beth only stopped working for us because we got a place at the nursery, but she is and will be our first port of call any time we need any help with childcare. We recommend her unreservedly.
