About Me

Hi my name is Bernadette (usually known as Bernie). I have 3 grown up children and 2 grandchildren. I am a non smoking household and have been been DBS checked. I hold a current Paediatric First Aid Certificate which is renewed every 3 yrs,

I am OFSTED registered graded GOOD. I work towards the EYFS framework that is mandatory for all early years providers. I hold a current Paediatric First Aid Certificate which is renewed every 3 yrs .I have over 30 years experience working with children of all ages and I have a long standing commitment to the Girl Guiding association as Brown Owl and Guide leader. In past I have also worked for Sunderland Council as Play Scheme Worker.

I provide the children in my care a home from home environment , with lots of fun .activity.craft’s and outdoor gun.I provide a safe environment and I have a dedicated room for the children to play in and a garden. I work closely with parents to provide a safe, happy, healthy environment that will allow your baby/child to develop and learn new skills through play - at their own individual pace. I believe parents are the child's main educators and they know their children's needs better than anybody.

Activities on offer will be: Homework, Drawing/Coloring and Painting, Baking, Gardening, Collage, Model making, Crafts, Sewing. Interactive games, Books, Storytelling, Seasonal activities, Games,Puzzles, Jigsaws. Outdoor activities,visits to Museums and Art Gallery's. Local toddler groups. I will focus on individual activities that are of interest to the children.

I have put together a parent information sheet outlining my services - please let me know if you would like me to e-mail you a copy. I offer home from home flexible care and school holiday cover and I can offer an only school holiday contract if parents so wish.
