About Me

I’m Abbi, and I am opening a new childminding setting, Happy Hedgehogs, in the Ringwood area from next year.

As a mum to a 3 year old and 6 month old, I understand just how important it is for parents to feel confident and reassured when leaving their child in someone else’s care. My aim is to provide a genuine home from home environment where children feel safe, secure, valued and loved.

I will offer a balance of structured activities and free play, following each child’s interests to support their development naturally. Indoors, we enjoy cooking and baking, arts and crafts, painting, sensory play, reading stories and imaginative play. I encourage children to build confidence, independence and curiosity through everyday learning experiences.

I also strongly believe in the importance of fresh air and exploring outside the house. I will provide regular outings to different places such as; the library, Moors Valley, Paultons Park, local parks and toddler groups, giving children opportunities to socialise, build friendships and explore the world around them.

My setting is calm, small, caring and child-centred, where every child is supported as an individual and encouraged to learn, grow and flourish at their own pace.

My Experience

I have over 18 years of experience as a sole charge nanny, as well as experience working in nursery and pre-school settings. Throughout my career, I have supported families in Dorset, Wiltshire, Hampshire, Notting Hill and Holland Park, caring for children of different ages and stages of development. I have been responsible for planning engaging activities, supporting early learning, managing routines and ensuring children’s safety and wellbeing at all times. I have also travelled with families, which has strengthened my ability to adapt, organise and respond to children’s individual needs.

My Qualifications

- OFSTED Registered
- CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education
- Paediatric First Aid trained
- Food Hygiene Safety
- Safeguarding training

My Availability

I currently have availability Monday to Wednesday, 7:30am–5pm, from January 2027.

I can offer flexible childcare to suit your family’s individual needs, including all-year-round, term-time or stretched funding.

I also welcome eligible funded places.

My Fees

  • Childminding from £7.40 per hour

I’m happy to accept 15 and 30 hours of government-funded childcare for eligible families, as well as private childcare at my hourly rate.

I’m always happy to chat through the options and find what works best for you and your little one.
