About Me

As a childminder I work from my own home offering a warm, caring and well resourced home from home environment where children feel comfortable to experience learning through play. I provide children with the opportunity to take part in a wide range of everyday indoor and outdoor learning activities, experiences, trips and outings. I have an enclosed garden, a plot at a local allotment and I am within walking distance of outdoor public spaces including a wood and parks. We attend local classes and sessions as well as enjoying our allotment, the outdoor play kitchen, local walks and outings. I am a member of the Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years, Forest Childcare Association and Westonbirt Arboretum.

I aim to meet the individual requirements of children and their parents/carers while building on the strong attachment young children need. Children start childcare with me aged between 6 months and 15 months and in many cases continue their early years journey through until they start nursery, playgroup, preschool or primary school. As a childminder I provide childcare to a small group of children often of different ages. Children build close friendships, develop good social skills, a tolerance of others and it may be possible for siblings to be cared for together.

I do not provide childcare to preschool children who attend other settings.

I work as a childminder Monday to Friday from 8.00am until 6.00pm. I am available outside these hours by arrangement. I offer full time all year round childcare. I do not work on bank holidays and the week between Christmas and New Year. There is no charge when I do not work.

I am unable to accommodate contracted half days. Minimum attendance is for 8 hours a day. Children are required to attend a minimum of two days a week and for the same days each week. This helps secure a happy and settled relationship in order for me to plan a broad range of activities and experiences that take into account the interests of each child to support their learning and development while delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage requirements for children from birth to 5 years.

I provide children with water to drink and all food, meals and snacks are provided. This is important when working with individuals who may have food allergies/intolerances.

If you are thinking of using family or friends to make up your childcare requirements please consider their reliability as I may not be able to cover additional days of childcare.

I am registered to accept Tax Free childcare and the government funded childcare for 2, 3 & 4 year olds.

I keep up to date with training through online courses and by attending local sessions which I do in the evenings and at weekends so as not to disrupt my childcare service.

I am registered to provide occasional/emergency overnight care. I am available for occasional evening babysitting from 6.30pm and occasional weekend/overnight nanny work.
