Candice
Nanny in London (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
I am a dedicated 38-year-old nanny residing in southeast London with a degree in Education. I possess recent certifications in First Aid and Safeguarding, which I diligently renew every two years, along with a valid DBS check.
As a non-smoker with a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle, I am equipped to provide reliable and safe care for your children.
My professional interests include sole charge nanny positions, shared nanny roles, and occasional babysitting opportunities. I am adept at managing both solo and collaborative childcare responsibilities.
Ideally, I prefer roles where I can occasionally bring my own children – aged 11 and 4 during non-term time – to work. While this has been flexibility in my recent positions and is supported by excellent references, I am flexible and understand that it may not always be possible.
My commitment to working with children stems from a genuine passion, reflected in my pursuit of an educational degree. I firmly believe in nurturing and guiding children, recognizing them as the cornerstone of our future.
My Experience
I am a highly experienced and dedicated childcare professional with over 21 years of experience working across a wide range of early years and school settings, including private nanny roles, SEN support, after-school care, nursery room leadership, and teaching assistant positions. I hold a BA (Hons) in Early Years Education and Leadership and have extensive knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), child development, and inclusive practice.
I hold an up-to-date Enhanced DBS, valid safeguarding training, and a current paediatric First Aid certificate. I also have a full UK driving licence and my own car, enabling me to provide reliable transport for school runs, activities, and appointments when required.
Throughout my career, I have cared for children from birth to 16 years, including those with additional needs, supporting their emotional, social, and educational development. My experience as a nanny has strengthened my ability to provide consistent, nurturing sole-charge care, while my nursery and school-based roles have developed my skills in planning, observation, assessment, and working effectively as part of a team.
I am confident in creating engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning through play, independence, and curiosity. I build strong, trusting relationships with children and families and take pride in providing a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment where every child can thrive.
I am now seeking a rewarding childcare position where I can continue to use my broad experience, professional knowledge, and passion for early years education to make a positive and lasting impact on children’s development.
My duties include planning daily indoor activities such as homework support, arts and crafts, and cooking, as well as organizing outings to parks, libraries, and local classes. I also handle pickups from school, extracurricular activities, and twice-monthly sleepovers to allow the parents if you want me to get that positive? to have their own time, while providing nutritious meals and home comforts.
Additionally, I care for one other children during non-school hours, depending on their parents' schedules, alongside my own two children outside of their school/nursery timetable. The children benefit from interacting with each other, and the different age groups help encourage development in speech and gross and fine motor skills.
Prior to my current role, I worked with a family with a young boy with special educational needs (SEN) planning daily activities, pickups from school, meal preparation, and maintaining the child's room.
Other experiences include caring for a 3-year-old girl while her parents were at work, as well as working as a live-out nanny for a young girl and providing part-time care for a 2-year-old boy.
I've also babysat for babies, infants and toddlers pre school and junior age groups and have experience as a nursery nurse, room leader, and playworker.
Ideally, I'm looking for a position that offers a minimum of 20 hours per week and appreciates my level of flexibility, qualifications, and experience.
My Qualifications
I have completed a National Diploma in Child Care Learning and Development level 3 in 2011.
I also completed my Early Years Degree levels 4, 5 and 6 at Kingston university 2014.
I also have First Aid and Safeguarding, which I diligently renew every two years, along with a valid DBS check.
