About Me
I have four young children: Gemma is four (will turn five next week), James and Matthew are twins aged three, and Laura is one-year old.
I am currently working in London four days a week (Monday-Thursday) and am looking for a nanny who is able to do three or four days a week.
My current nanny will be leaving us on 15 December so am ideally looking for someone to start between then and the beginning of January.
We are also looking for someone who has an interest in staying with us long-term. This is important to us. With Laura just turning one I see us needing a nanny until she goes to primary school so it would be for the best part of four years.
My Requirements
Looking for a live out nanny, three or four days a week, from mid-December / early January.
The ideal candidate would be able to drive, ideally own car but that is not essential, and also be Ofsted registered.
Typical responsibilities:
Getting Gemma ready for school and boys and Laura dressed
Making childrens' beds
Taking boys and Laura to playgroups / park / soft play
Taking Gemma and boys to swimming lessons
Changing nappies / potty training
Preparing meals when needed
Creative activities aimed at developing their skills
Putting through children's laundry
Tidying up after activities and mealtimes
Gemma has just started primary school which is just across the road and is there between 8.50-3.15pm, the boys have started pre-school (12.30-3.30pm), so the number of children around at any given time fluctuates. During half-term and holidays you would have all four together most of the time aside from play dates.
We have discovered that keeping the children busy and active normally means a much easier and fun day for all, so it is a busy role that involves being very organized, but then everything runs smoothly (most of the time!). We have regular playgroups / activities in the mornings. My primary concern is that the children are entertained and developed and I do like the main living space to be kept as clean and tidy as possible.

Wendy has been working for me for one day a week since September 2015. At the time Wendy started working for me my daughter (Gemma) was 2 years 10 months old and the twin boys (James and Matthew) just 17 months. The hours we agreed were 8.30am-5.30pm (9 hours).
Gemma was starting at a local Montessori pre-school at the same time from 9am–4pm so for the majority of the day Wendy had sole charge of the two boys, however would also look after Gemma first thing and from 4pm.
Typical responsibilities include:
• Getting all three children dressed and giving them their breakfasts
• Taking Gemma to / from school
• Taking James & Matthew to a local church playgroup each morning in term-time or other outing during school holidays
• Changing nappies
• Preparing lunch for the boys and evening meal for Gemma
• After school trip to local park / coffee shop depending on the weather
• Occasional babysitting (involving bedtime story for my daughter)
The most important thing to me that is evident when I see Wendy with my children is that they all like her. When you have to leave your children with someone else in order to return to work them being happy is of primary importance. I tried my daughter in a nursery for several months but she was always picking up one illness after another and was never really happy to be dropped off there. However being at home and having a nanny come to us has removed that worry completely.
In addition I have been impressed with Wendy’s flexibility (she has swapped days with my other nanny where needed and changed her hours to cover other commitments), reliability (she has not had one day off sick in the time she has been working for me) and interest in the children. She enjoys playing with them but in addition has focused on their reading and playing games that teach them colours etc.
Wendy is also very good at cleaning up after meals and ensuring the house and playroom are left tidy at the end of the day.
In summary, Wendy possesses all of the qualities that make a nanny successful. She is very reliable, trustworthy, motivated and great with children and I would highly recommend her for a nanny position.
