About Me

have enjoyed working/caring for Poppleton Children in the past
20 years. I am an experienced childcarer & educator, I’ve had the
privilege of earning Outstanding and Good inspections
throughout my career. My true passion lies in nurturing a love
for the environment, wildlife, horticulture, and the great
outdoors. In the last 12 months I have been busy training, forest
schools, Woodland pedagogy, Wildlife conservation and eco
systems. Also training as Nature Connection Practitioner

I’m not an eco-warrior, but I happily embrace being eco-friendly!
I love sharing my knowledge and skills with children, inspiring
them to connect with nature and discover the magic of
sustainability. That’s why I’m thrilled to bring my passion to
Poppleton by launching a fun and educational eco nature club.
Together, we’ll explore the wonders of nature, learn how to care
for the planet, and have a blast in the process!

In previous years I was delighted to be given York childminder of the Year by York city Council. Winning a family meal at Lady Ann Middleton’s, champagne flowers and chocolates, very nice!!

Fantastic and talented Childminder

I found Jo's profile on this website when I had an opportunity for some short-term work, but worried I wouldn't be able to find anyone/anyone who would be willing to invest in getting to know our daughter for a relatively short period of time. Jo responded immediately and was really flexible about options for settling in sessions. Immediately on meeting Jo in person I knew she would be a great fit. Jo is that perfect mixture of professional and personable and immediately won my complete trust. Jo used her experience to make sure our daughter settled in incredibly quickly- she is under two so obviously I couldn't explain anything to her but after some tears on the first day she was very happy to spend time with Jo and clearly trusted Jo completely. I didn't think this was possible! Jo planned activities with other Childminders so our daughter got to spend time with other children too which was lovely, and the fact she kept to her routine (better than she does at home!) just goes to show how capable Jo is.

I was so sad on our last day, if we could continue we absolutely would but my contract has ended and also we are moving house. I very much hope though that it isn't a goodbye forever and our daughter will get to somehow spend more time with Jo in the future.

Don't hesitate to contact Jo, it was a real privelege to know our daughter was both safe and happy in her care.

Many thanks Emily.It was a delight to look after Hannah.I was very happy to notice how quickly we both got on together.We jumped the difficult settling in time and got straight into enjoying our days together.Fond memories I will keep.Hopefully we will get a chance again sometime Thanks again for this lovely review.Jox
