Hello! I am a Maisie and I am a friendly, happy person who adores children and enjoy working with them. I have over 10 years of experience, including school, nursery, nannying and social work.
I hold a university degree in childhood studies and also a masters in social work. I have spent the last 4 years working for the local authority and will be returning to this part time after maternity leave. I am hoping to find a lovely family who would need my services part time and allow me to bring my little boy if needed.
My husband is a fire fighter and so does shift work, thus when days align he is able to have him.
I have a little boy who is currently turning a year. I want to work more flexibly around him, and allow us more time together.
My Experience
I have years of babysitting experience for children ranging from babies year to 12. I also have much work experience of caring for children in nursery and education - playing with them, feeding, napping, changing nappies, bathing, playing and supporting with education; be that travel or home work.
At the age of 18 I took a gap year in which I spent a large amount of time looking after a family of 3 girls aged between 6-10. I was given the responsibility of taking the children to numerous sports activities, supporting with homework, feeding them and general care.
I complete a BA degree in early childhood studies in 2016 and went to nursery work. I worked with a range of ages including baby room and toddlers. I loved this role and enjoyed the creative minds and imagination.
Following this I did some travelling and realised I wanted to pursue a career in social work, thus on my return I completed a masters in social work. I have now spent 4 years working for the local authority within child protection and fostering/adoption. I have loved this role but now I have my own baby it is just too demanding and I am looking for a change where I can have a better balance of work/home life.
I am full bds checked.
Other information
I have also carried out a month of charity work in Kenya, helping to build facilities for children in education and well as playing with and helping them in their learning. Along with this I travelled for 2 months in South America, where we did certain work with the local children within the mountains of Peru.
My Qualifications
I have 11 GCSE, as well as 2 as level qualification and 3 A levels.
I graduated with a 2:1 in early childhood studies
I then graduated the university of Brunel with a merit in social work MA
I have completed a number of training courses alongside my current work.
I have previously completed first aid training.
My Availability
From September:
I am available wednesdays and Fridays currently. My husband is a fired fighter and does shift work so sometimes he is able to have the baby but this isn’t a constant. This I need a flexible family who will allow me to bring him on occasions.
I have made the decision to return to the local authority for 3 days a week.
