my name is Helen Bates and I am 56 and have 2 grown up children aged 25 and 30. I am a Ofsted Registered Childminder and have been graded Outstanding in my last 4 Ofsted inspections. I have been a childminder for 24 years.
I attend local toddler groups, Messy play, I take the children to local parks including High Elms, and Christmas Tree Farm. We go to the library, and many more places.
I cook fresh meals for the children everyday lunch, dinner and healthy snacks in between.
I live near Orpington Station.
I offer before and after school care. I cover TUBBENDEN PRIMARY SCHOOL
my working hours are 7.30 - 5.30pm this is flexible
My Experience
I have been childminding for 24 years and have been graded outstanding by ofsted four times
My ethos is any child in my care becomes part of my family and is treated with the respect, care and love I would give to my own children.
My Qualifications
I have been on many courses that the Borough of Bromley run for childminders. I also have an up to date First Aid and have completed Epipen Training.
My Availability
I work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 7.30 to 5.30pm. This is flexible

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.50 per hour
- Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
tMy fees are £6.50 per hour or £60 min a day. This includes a lunch and cooked dinner. Before and after school care £30.00 per day. This includes an evening meal.

Helen took on my son at short notice when we lost our previous childminder. We didn't have time for lots of settling in sessions, yet she still managed to settle my son quickly and sent me reassuring messages and photos to let me know how he was doing. I have experienced both nurseries and childminders with my children. In my opinion, Helen offers the best of both. They get one to one in a home environment at her house. In addition, Helen rotates her toys daily and takes them out on trips and to playgroups. Ste ensures there's an educational element every day - they paint, grow vegetables, count, read, sing songs - everything you can think of. I never knew a childminder could be so enthusiastic and committed to their work. My son had glue ear and Helen went out of her way to learn how to support him. Helen is firm but fair, and I think my son has benefitted from having to learn to be independent. We are moving area and we are very sad to lose Helen as our childminder. I genuinely think she is fantastic.
