Kelly R
Childminder in Bishopton
My Summary
About Me
Hello, my name is Kelly. I am a registered childminder and local authority–funded provider based in Bishopton, Renfrewshire. Vacancies within my service are limited, and I operate a waiting list to ensure families are supported as spaces become available.
I live with my husband, Darren, and our three children, Macy, Jaxson and Cody. Darren works away from home as a Marine Engineer on a rolling shift pattern.
We also share our home with Rayden, our four year old black Labrador. He is exceptionally gentle and well?mannered with both children and adults. Rayden is fully flea, worm and tick treated, and all vaccinations are up to date. He is well trained, has excellent recall, and enjoys spending time with the children. He has his own crate where he likes to rest, providing a safe and comfortable space for him within our home.
My Experience
I am a mother of three children (one girl and two boys) aged between 10 and 23 years. The experience I have gained through parenting has been instrumental in developing my confidence, judgement, and approach to childcare.
Before relocating to Scotland, I worked as a childminder in England for seven years, following an earlier career in business training. Becoming a parent reshaped my priorities and inspired me to pursue a career centred on supporting families and young children. Since moving to Scotland 16 years ago, I have continued my childcare practice, caring for children from diverse cultural backgrounds and those with additional support needs. I pride myself on being adaptable and offering a warm, welcoming, home?from?home environment. Strong partnerships with parents underpin the high?quality care I aim to provide.
My husband is registered as an assistant and works alongside me during busier periods.
In 2020, I registered as a funded provider with the local authority, allowing me to offer funded early learning and childcare hours to 3–5?year?olds and eligible 2?year?olds.
I have numerous references from families I have supported over the years, many of whom I remain closely connected with.

My Availability
I am currently full but offer a waiting list. All families who are using my services have first choice of days/hours they may require. I do not operate a drop and collect service to and from a nursery placement unless this is a blended care option. Further information can be provided should this be a requirement. I also do not offer a school drop and collect service at present. I try to be as flexible as I possibly can to support parents with changing needs/ shift patterns. Should you require more information, please do not hesitate to contact me. Where I am unable to help, I do have excellent relationships and links with childminders and nurseries, both locally and in surrounding areas that I may be able to recommend.
My Fees

Kelly childminds for my 3yo son and he absolutely loves her, the bond they have is amazing. Kelly takes time to listen to my child’s needs and helps to advance him on his day to day skills. She takes my son out on educational trip as well as fun ones. Kelly is fun and friendly and I would highly recommend to anyone
