About Me
I am a midwife with 7 adopted children most of whom are adults now and live away from home.
My Experience
I qualified as a nursery nurse in 1984 and worked in a large family centre for 17 years eventually as the centre manager. I also lived in the USA as a nanny for 2 years as well then becoming a foster carer. I then took 10 years out to be a full time mum of 7 children before returning to education to train as a midwife at the age of 43. I have substantial experience of caring for children aged 0-18 years via both careers as well as by caring for my own children. Midwifery has given me the opportunity to develop skills with newborns, in addition I have had newborns placed with me through fostering. I have a very clear understanding of child development, I have pediatric first aid training.

I had amanda look after my little girl for a coupke months every weekend and my daughter always came back like she had the best time ever always back happy and healthy I highly recommend her

Amanda has looked after our two children, age 2 & 4, on numerous occassions over the last couple of months. Amanda was very accomodating as we required ad hoc hours and she happily fit in with our needs where she could, dropping off & collecting our children at nursery. Amanda was brilliant when our little girl was poorly & I couldn't get away from work straight away, she cared for her so well. The children have loved their time with Amanda & our oldest chats a lot about his time with her. Overall caring & reassuring. Would highly recommend, thank you very much Amanda :)

Amanda looked after my 1 1/2 year old little girl every weekend from 5 Friday till 10:30am Mondayonly for a short while but my little girl loved her time with her came back as happy as ever and well looked after I highly recommend Amanda if you are looking for a babysitter :)

I required Amanda’s services to pick my son from home and drop him at school 3 mornings a week. This was a very individual request but Amanda was happy to do it. She always arrived on time and my son always had a good time on his way to school. He very quickly developed a bond with Amanda and was very happy to go with her every morning. She went the extra mile by talking to his class teacher on the day when he was apprehensive to go to school. I am very impressed by the care Amanda provides and her friendly and approachable nature makes it a delight to work with her.
