About Little Barn Childminding
A cosy and nurturing childminding home-from-home setting based on our quiet non-working farm in Liphook.
The Little Barn offers children 0-4 years a unique early years experience surrounded by nature, fresh air and open space.
The dedicated self-contained annex, specially designed for early years learning, provides safe, homely and inspiring environment where children can play, explore and grow.
With access to outdoor areas, including an on site woodland, natural materials and plenty of space to move and create, The Little Barn supports children’s curiosity, independence and confidence.
The Little Barn offers high quality, EYSF-based care for children with a warm, calm atmosphere and focus on child-led learning, creativity and time in nature.
A little bit about me
My name is Catherine, and I have worked in Early Years and Childcare since I was 18 years old. With around 16 years of experience as a private nanny, becoming a mum to my two wonderful children inspired me to follow my dream of opening Little Barn Childminding.
I am in the process of becoming OFSTED registered and based in Liphook, Hampshire.
I have always been passionate about supporting children in their early years, knowing how important these formative years are for learning, development, confidence and independence. I believe every child deserves the opportunity to feel safe, valued and inspired as they explore the world around them.
Providing children with a strong foundation for future learning, health and life success has always been at the heart of what I do.
I have completed a wide range of training and CPD, hold all required legal documentation, and am committed to providing the highest standard of care.
My aim is to create a true home-from-home environment, where each day is thoughtfully tailored to the children’s individual needs, interests and development.
Caring for children in this way is such a privilege, and I truly wouldn’t change it for the world.
My Experience
2025 - 2026
I worked as a nursery practitioner in my children’s nursery for the previous year. It’s given me the opportunity to gain new experiences, broaden my skills and deepen my understanding of the EYFS in a group setting, which has helped me while setting up The Little Barn.
Private Family | 2022-2024
Sole care for a 6-month-old alongside my daughter of the same age — creating a positive, shared play experience.
Managed all nursery duties: bottle prep, laundry, organising clothing.
Supported weaning while managing potential allergies.
Daily outings including countryside walks and playgroups.
Private Family | 2019 – 2022
Cared for two children (ages 1 and 5 at placement).
Supported home schooling during the pandemic.
Planned and prepared nutritious meals, took children to activities (groups, swimming).
Handled nursery duties and occasional food shopping.

Provided care for a 6-month-old with severe eczema — managed medication and skincare routines.

We used Catherin to babysit our daughter whilst at a dinner. She was very good with our daughter and our daughter remarked how nice she was. Have hesitation in recommending Catherin.

My children adore Catherine and we love having her she is fun and bubbly and we welcome and trust her around our young children - Would highly recommend and have recommended to all my friends!!
