About Me
I am an easy going, patient, kind and caring person who loves working with babies and children of all ages. If necessary I have a firm but very fair and consistent approach to discipline. I always try to encourage and nurture children focusing on the positives in order for them to feel secure as well as build their confidence.
My Experience
I am a trained Nursery and Early Years Teacher and have 25 years experience working in infant schools and nurseries. I also worked as a Volunteer for Surestart when I stayed at home for five years to have my own two sons. I have been working over the past 9 years in a nursery for SEND and autistic children and so have gained a lot of experience in this area too. This has included dealing with children with behavioral issues and also using communication aids such as PECS and schedules.
I love children of all ages as well as animals who are often a big part of family life too. I have two sons of my own who are now 19 and 16, I, therefore have plenty of personal experience of bringing up children, understand the challenges often faced as well as how precious your children are to you.
I have an up to date Enhanced DBS certificate (which I can show on arrival)
Full driving licence and over 25 years driving experience
My Qualifications
B.Ed Degree (Hons) specialising in Early Years and Key Stage 1
25years teaching experience including SEN
Experience with two of my own children who are currently 15 and 18 years old
My Availability
Evening babysitting any day except Sundays
I could sometimes do an overnight stay on a Friday or Saturday
