About Me
Hello, I'm Sophie. I am 37 years old and have lived on Dartmoor for 15years! I enjoy reading, baking and sewing alongside exploring the wonderful local area.
I am a calm, warm and creative person. I love doing arts and crafts activities with my charges. I believe in making the most of the wonderful countryside around us. I make sure to get outside with my charges at least once a day. I also enjoy baking with my charges and I can provide healthy home cooked meals. I provide stimulating activities that aid and support development including age appropriate science experiments, numeracy, language and literacy activities.
Childcare and education is my chosen career and I have spent a lot of time on my professional development including completing a BA (hons) in Childhood and Youth Studies through the Open University. I am also a qualified Early Years Teacher Training and have a Post- graduate Diploma in Early Years. I have Paediatric First Aid, Level 3 safeguarding and I am OFSTED registered.
My Experience
Qualified with a Level 3 diploma in Childcare and education in 2007. Since then I have worked in a range of positions including 9 years experience in various nannying roles. I have experience with working with children from the age of 6 months to 11 years. This includes working with multiples, children with additional needs, allergies and dietary requirements.
