My Experience

Childcare Practitioner – Little Blossoms December 2020 – Present
I was offered the opportunity to work with babies which was not offered at my previous position. Working with babies showed me how important it is to liaise with parents and other agencies to ensure the best care is being provided to the children. Day to day, I complete all appropriate paperwork for the room and children, provide age-appropriate activities while making sure all babies have their individual routines catered for. I take pride in the fact I know every child’s different likes, dislikes, and routines.
I have a good understanding what to look out for with regards to safeguarding and child development.


Childcare Practitioner – Explorosity June 2020 – December 2020
I worked full time at a day nursery working 40+ hours a week, my current job is extremely fast paced which means I have developed a skill for solving problems fast and working under pressure. I can fill out appropriate paperwork to keep information up to date following policies and procedures. I currently work with children aged 14 months to 36 months, but I am expected to work in all rooms to cover holidays and breaks.


Childcare Practitioner – Ladybirds Preschool 2016-2020
I worked full time with pre-school children aged 2-4. I was a key person to 10 children which has helped me gain great experience working with the EYFS, filling out paperwork and communicating with parents. My main roles throughout the day involves providing fun educational activity for all ages, meeting the children's social and emotional needs, and helping the children with personal hygiene. While working at ladybirds I also work in the before and after school club, this is ages 2-10 so again I must provide activities and care for children of all ages.
(I started this role as a level 2 apprentice and then moved on to my level 3.)
Baby room experience While I completed my level 3 qualification, I did two weeks volunteering at little stars nursery in the baby room. As a volunteer I did not have any paperwork to worry about and therefore was able to make the most of supporting the babies with their development. I helped feed the babies and support some with weaning. I helped with setting the babies at nap time and comforting them when needed.
Nanny 2015-2018
I nannied part-time in the mornings and at night for a baby girl from the age of 5 months till 2 years until she moved away. I loved this role and learnt so much from her. I had sole care of her most weekends and would take her on day trips and have wonderful times together. This child had severe allergies which has given me a good




Volunteering
I used to volunteer my time at a local nursery. I have learned to become more responsible in my daily life, I also help out at my grandmas NSPCC charity group doing waitress work when they have events.
