About Me
My name is Natalie Felton and I am an OFSTED registered childminder. I live in a terraced house in Crawcrook with my husband Carl. I am very close to all ammenities, such as schools, nurseries, shops, parks and the library.
My aim as a childminder is to provide the best possible care to all the children I look after as well as providing an excellent service to all parents.
I provide a happy, caring, warm and friendly setting where children are safe and learn through many different activities and play. I am very child focused and believe the key to a happy child is through positive experiences in a nurturing environment, that is non-judgemental and child centred. I ensure that all the children who are in my care are happy and safe and have a fun and enjoyable experience. I provide this through stimulating activities which are age appropriate and with outdoor play (weather dependant) and by attending local toddler and childminding groups in order to provide many opportunities for positive social interaction.
I also strongly believe in good daily routines which helps the child to feel safe and secure thus leading them to thrive and develop.
My values are that every child should be inspired and encouraged to achieve the best of their abilities and they are each unique individuals that should be treated with respect and constantly given positive praise and encouragement.
I support the children to develop their independence skills such as potty training, feeding themselves, washing their hands and putting on their own coat etc in a caring and safe manner.
My childminding practice ensures that all children will be given the chance to develop positive attitudes to differences of race, culture, gender, language and ability.
My Experience
I have many years experience working with children. I have worked in a nursery/pre school, an afterschool and holiday club and also a play project. My mother was a registered childminder graded as outstanding with ofsted, and has over 35 years experience, therefore I have grown up in an environment where young children have always been present. In my previous job I worked for 7 years in a residential unit for children in the looked after system, who have severe behavioural and emotional difficulties. I have worked with children from 6 months - 18 years.
My Qualifications
BTEC National Diploma in Childhood Studies (nursery nurse qualification)
BA Joint Honours Degree in Childhood Studies and Professional Practice Studies.

Safe Handling of medication approved by Newcastle College

My Availability
I am available Monday to Thursday from 7.45am - 5pm. Please ask if you require anything outside of these hours.
I care for children from 6 months - 12 years. I provide full day places for children who are under 5, I also provide before and after school places. I collect from Emmaville School, Bright Sparks Nursery and Emmaville Nursery.
