My Summary

My Experience

I am currently working as a special needs carer to twins aged 10, I have cared for them for 6 years! One of the twins has diagnosis' of cerebral palsy, epilepsy, cortical visual impairment and dystonia.

My other nanny family I will finish employment with end of June. I have been their nanny for nearly 3 years. The girls are now 4 and 6 and now attend school full time so my role has changed. In this role we spent time at playgroups, day trips, lunches out, reading books, helping the girls with their homework and having lots of fun together!

My experience includes cerebral palsy, epilepsy, ADHD, ASD, Global Development Delay, Sensory Processing Difficulties, MIC-KEY feeding. I have now completed my level 2 British Sign Language!

I enjoy spending the days at playgroups, playdates with other nannies, museums, parks, arts and craft, baking, and exploring the outdoors.

Previously, I worked 3 days per week for a family caring for a 2 year old who has a diagnosis of global development delay, speech and language delays and was also MIC-KEY button fed. My employment finished with them as he was able to go to nursery without me as his support, which was a huge achievement for him. When I first started looking after him he struggled with feeding, communication and walking. My contract was initially a 6 month contract, however this got extended to two years! I still see him regularly.
My role and responsibility included, ensuring he had his daily required water intake and food, to help socialise him with lots of children of varying ages and adults to encourage his speech and play with others.

I worked as a full time nanny for a family, this position finished in October 2014. I looked after 2 girls, aged 4 & 7 for a year. This role included school pick up, laundry, ironing, cooking, tidying and clearing out the girls playroom, taking to after school activities/lessons and on play dates to their friends houses. In the school holidays we spent our time at museums, play dates, parks, baking, arts and crafts, homework, piano and violin practice and much more! We loved to be busy and have lots of plans for the school holidays.

I have also been a nanny for a family with 3 children, twins aged 3 and a 5 year old. This role mainly included cleaning, school drop off and pick up and having lots of fun together!

I cared for 3 boys who are brothers for 3 years up from 2010-2013 alongside working in a nursery. The boys all have a range of diagnosis, autism, severe learning difficulties, global development delay, ADHD and the youngest has a paralysed bowel. They were 6,9 and 10 when I first worked for the family. They are now 19, 22 and 23 and I still visit them often.

I have worked in a summer scheme for children with autism and have volunteered for their youth club on a regular basis in the past.
