About Me
Hello my name is Melanie. I am an Ofsted Registered Childminder, who has over 16 years experience working with children, as well as being a mum myself. I live with my wonderful Husband, son who is 18, daughter who is 16 and our 2 British Blue cats. My childcare setting is run from our, 4 bedroom home in Brentwood with a 180 ft garden. We are also just a short walk to King Georges playing fields and the High Street.
I offer a very loving, friendly, safe, happy, caring and stimulating home environment, in which every child can have fun, play, socialize, learn and thrive.
I love having fun with all the children. We enjoy getting out and about, going to: toddler groups, libraries, soft play areas, parks, beaches, forest walks etc (each day). These activities are mainly done with other childminders/nannies and their children. This helps all children to learn to socialize with many different age ranges and helps them to learn/explore their world around them (whatever their age).
I provide care for newborns, right through to the teenage years. Although the last few years my work has mainly been with newborns and children from the early years age group.
Every child/parent/family is welcomed into our family/home.
I was working with children for a few years before becoming a Registered Childminder in Jan 2006 and have had an outstanding Ofsted report and two goods.
My husband, son, daughter and I, have all been CRB checked (Police checked).
I am a member of Pacey (Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years)
I have Public Liability Insurance cover for children in my care.
My Experience
I am an experienced mum of two lovely children, my son who is 18 years old and my daughter who is 16 years old. My son is on his 2nd year of his electrical apprenticeship, working up in London. My daughter is on her 1st year of her apprenticeship at a local underground Network company.
I was working with children for a few years before becoming a Registered Childminder in Jan 2006 and have many fantastic references for families to see.
I regularly attend training/courses, to ensure i am able to improve/provide the best possible care for all the families in my setting.
A wonderful family that started with me back in Jan 2006, stayed with me for over 13 years. They only left me in September 2019 as the last of their three children, moved up to big school.
