About Me
Hello my name is Rachel, living in Rye. I am a friendly, calm, hardworking individual. In my spare time I love my family time with my two daughters and fiancée. We love being outside and going for walks whenever we get the chance.
I have worked in childcare for over 20 years. After gaining my Cache diploma in childcare and education I have worked in several different day nurseries, gaining experience of working with children between 0-5 years and a good knowledge of child development.
I am passionate about working with children, watching them learn and grow and being able to be a part of this is very rewarding for me. I believe in the importance of building secure relationships with children. My experience has given me an abundance of knowledge for child development and to value that every child is unique.
As a Nanny I enjoy taking the children on outings, to groups and activities, spending time outdoors as i feel this is very important. I would plan activities and crafts trying to make every day different, but also understanding the importance of routine and working alongside parents to ensure family values. As well as childcare I am also happy to carry out any housekeeping duties which would be of help to the family.
My Experience
January 2018 - March 2019. Sole care of a 2 year old boy.
September 2016 - November 2018. Sole care of three young children of 20 months, 3 and 4 years.
October 2015 - August 2016. Sole care of two young children of 3 and 5 years of age, 3 days per week.
March - September 2015. I had sole care of two young children of 1 year and 3 years, 4 days per week.
2013-2015 I was Baby room supervisor at Country Buttercups Private nursery in Brede, East Sussex, where I ran a small room taking care of up to 6 babies aged between 3 months to 2 years.
2010-2012 I traveled to Australia and New Zealand for a working holiday, in New Zealand I worked on farms and orchards.
In Brisbane, Australia 2011 I was a nanny for one family for 6 months, with sole care of two boys aged 1 year and 3 years old from Mon-Fri.
In Canberra 2011 I was a nanny for a family for three months, with sole care of two boys aged 2 and 4 years old three days a week.
In Perth, 2010 I was a nanny for a family on a short term basis for two months with sole care of 3 children aged 1,2 and 7 years old three days a week.
2006-2010 I worked my way up from Nursery practitioner to creche supervisor then onto Deputy manager at Carousel Nursery in Hastings, East Sussex, caring for children between the ages of 3 months to 4 years.
2006 I was a Nursery Practitioner at Health Tots Nursery covering maternity leave, working as part of the toddler room caring for children between the ages of 1 and 2 years.
2005 I worked as a Nursery Practitioner at Abacus day nursery in Hastings.
My Qualifications
In 2004 I completed my CACHE Diploma in Childcare and Education (level 3)
PaediatricFirst aid training
Child protection training
Full clean driving licence held since 2007
My Availability
I am currently interested in a part time role.
My Fees
- Nannying from £18.00 per hour (gross)

I am the mother of the 2 children Rachel currently looks after - unfortunately we are moving house and despite my best efforts - I haven't convinced her to come with me!
She is an utterly incredible nanny - we have been so lucky to have her - she is reliable, calm, considerate and the kids absolutely adore her. They cook, garden, make the most amazing crafty things and are so happy in her care.
I cannot rate her highly enough and am more than happy to provide any verbal or written reference on request.
