Hello, I’m Jill, an Ofsted Registered Childminder and Early Years Provider with over 24 years’ experience caring for and supporting young children.
I provide a warm, nurturing, home-from-home environment where children can feel safe, happy and valued while learning through play. My aim is to help every child grow in confidence, develop friendships, explore their interests and reach their full potential at their own pace.
I believe young children learn best through play, exploration, real-life experiences and warm, nurturing relationships. Rather than a formal classroom environment, I provide a relaxed setting where children can learn naturally through everyday activities, outdoor adventures, creativity and curiosity
After spending 20 years working in Local Government, I followed my passion for working with children and retrained as a childminder. It remains the best decision I’ve ever made, and I still genuinely love helping little ones learn, develop and thrive.
Our family home is a spacious four-bedroom semi-detached house with a large secure garden backing onto open fields, providing plenty of opportunities for outdoor play, exploration and fresh air.
We are conveniently located within walking distance of Sanderstead Village and Hamsey Green, on the 403 bus route, and close to Warlingham, Sanderstead, Purley and Riddlesdown train stations.
Children enjoy a wide range of activities including:
Outdoor play and nature walks

Opportunities to build confidence, independence and social skills
I have a welcoming playroom opening directly into the garden, allowing children to enjoy free-flow play between indoors and outdoors throughout the day.
I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, supporting children’s learning and development through hands-on, engaging experiences that are tailored to each child’s individual interests and needs.
From September 2027, children will be required to bring a packed lunch from home. I will continue to provide breakfast, tea, fresh fruit and healthy snacks.
I hold Public Liability Insurance, business car insurance and a full clean driving licence.

My Experience
I have been an Ofsted Registered Early Years Provider since 2003, offering high-quality, home-based childcare for over 20 years.
As a mum of two grown-up children (and now a proud Nana too!), I truly understand the importance of finding a setting where children feel safe, happy and valued.
Over the years, I have cared for many children — from babies through to school-aged children — supporting each one through their unique stages of growth and development.
Working from my own home allows me to provide flexible, personalised care and to really get to know every child as an individual. I love building close, trusting relationships that help children feel secure, confident and happy as they play, explore and learn.

Please note:
• Places are offered on the basis that all three days (Tuesday–Thursday) are required.
• I am unable to offer one or two days only.
• Funded childcare accepted from 9 months.
• From the term following a child’s 3rd birthday, funded hours are offered up to a maximum of 15 hours per week.
• Term-time only.
My Fees
- Childminding from £9.00 per hour
My fees include breakfast, tea, healthy snacks, fresh fruit, nappies, wipes and local outings and activities.
Children are required to bring a packed lunch from home.
Funded childcare is available for eligible children from 9 months old.
There are no additional charges for consumables, meals, snacks, drinks or regular local outings. If an optional special outing or annual pass incurs an additional cost, this will always be discussed with parents in advance.
Please note: from the term following a child’s 3rd birthday, funded hours are offered up to a maximum of 15 hours per week.
Fees are payable monthly in advance, on or before the first day of each month.

Our little girl has been looked after by Jill for the last 2 years and we cant speak highly enough of Jill. We say ‘looked after’ but its so much more than that as Jill has taken the best care of our little one and progressed her in so many ways. Jill came recommended to us- we didn’t know Jill prior but, we’re so glad we chose her. Great comms, daily updates, great food, lots of fun had and a happy child always ready when we pick her up with lots to say about her day! Another on the way and therefore we’ll definitely be using Jill for childcare again, soon!

Jill is an amazing childminder. Both my children have been under the Jill's care and I cannot recommend her highly enough! She cares for our children as she would her own. Always out and about, doing activities or going to groups. I know that if my daughter is sad, Jill will always be there for a cuddle when I can't be.

I cannot recommend Jill & Kim enough. They have a genuine passion for children, with all the right attributes being caring, loving, patient and full of attention.
Jill’s house is the perfect setting which has been adapted perfectly for little ones. They are both extremely accommodating, flexible and 100% reliable. They really do go above and beyond their duties as childminders.
Both our children have loved going there. They have so much fun and I have always been amazed at all the different activities they do and all the different arts and crafts they bring home always amazes me.
I feel so grateful to have found Jillyjays. I remember how anxious we were as parents when we sent our first child. But we were so happy with everything that we were more than happy to send our second. And now we have just had our third we are certainly hoping to do the same. We are so grateful for both of their warmth, generosity, love and attention towards our children and look forward to many more years of having such fabulous childminders.

Jill and kim are trustworthy, caring, supportive, creative and reliable! Our son has had an incredible few years at jillyjays. He has made so much progress since the age of 11months and has enjoyed being with his additional family. The activities that they do every day are engaging and catered for their individual needs. Our son has additional needs and could completely trust Jill and kim to care for him and ensure he was always happy.

I used JillyJay's with my little girl. I was very very nervous as a first time Mum about leaving her at 8 months old. Jill and Kim were so lovely and supportive. They provide a homely environment which was tailored to all ages. I was sad to have to leave due to relocating :(

I've been very pleased with the progress of my child. Jill and Kim provide excellent care in a homely environment. Great resources, well informed parents, regular feedback, reports, comments about child progression. My daughter joined Jillyjays shortly after she turned 1 year. Now she is 2 and we've never had a problem with her going to the service. Both ladies are very welcoming and caring so the kids could feel like at home. I could see how much my daughter has learnt there. Only 2 years old but very independent, sociable, talkative. Jill and Kim raised my standards and expectations of a childminder service. Now I know how to recognise a great, outstanding care. If not the fact that we're moving area, I would definitely continue with Jillyjays.

We have been extremely happy with the care that our son has received at Jillyjays. It is a friendly and happy environment – welcoming, clean, well organised with a wonderful, well-stocked and dedicated playroom. Jill and Kim are fantastic. We couldn’t have asked for better childminders. They are so patient, caring and friendly and our son loves them. We immediately knew we‘d made the right decision.
Our son thoroughly enjoys the days he spends at Jillyjays. There is such a wide range of toys and activities and always an opportunity to play outside. The weekly and termly themes are well considered and have a positive impact on his learning.
In the time that he has been attending (18 months), our son has made brilliant progress in all areas of development.
His social skills have developed over time through play. He has a nice set of friends that he talks about and responds to. He is a confident boy that asks questions about the world and has a great sense of fun. We believe the time spent at Jillyjays has enhanced this through the activities he has participated in.
Would absolutely recommend Jillyjays.

Would recommended Jilljays to anyone, such a brilliant setting. We are so lucky to have not one but two lovely ladies looking after my 4 year old boy and 1 year old girl. Feel totally confident leaving my children in their very capable, friendly and fun care. The setting is lovely and the kids have a great time. Jill is very helpful and puts you at ease, which is what you need when you are leaving your precious babies.
A brilliant childminders and we feel very lucky to of found their care for our children.

My son has been going to Jill and Kim since he was 13 months old and loves it. He is so happy and will very much miss going when he starts at the local preschool in September.
His development is very good. He enjoys the food and the social side with his friends. People comment on how well he is developed he is for hos age. Have decided to send his younger brother in September to help with his development and social skills.

My 4 year old and 2 year old are currently cared for by Jill and Kim. They are so happy there and have so much fun! We had a very bad experience with a previous childminder so it was very reassuring that my children settled in so quickly and were cared for with such love and attention.
I can not rate them highly enough!
