Hi I’m Lydia, I am a 30 year old veterinary nurse and nanny and I live in Kendal! I have 14 years experience working with children and I am outgoing, reliable, friendly and well known in my local area as trustworthy.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, cooking and wild swimming!
My Experience
I began babysitting in my village at the age of 16 and have built up a large number of loyal babysitting clients in the last 14 years, looking after children from 8 months old to 12 years old. It is always something I have enjoyed and been good at!
I got my first nanny post at the beginning of 2013 looking after 2 children aged 10 months and 4 years, which involved nursery/school drop off and pick ups, providing breakfast and dinner, bath and bed etc. I was with this particular family for 9 months before I left to go travelling. When I came back I accepted a 6 month post with another family of 2 children aged 6 & 8 which I finished to begin university.
I then nannied part time for 2 other families throughout my 4 year university course which ended in June 2019. Since then I have babysat regularly whilst working as a Veterinary Nurse.
I also worked as a part time nursery assistant for Headline teachers for a total of 6 months in 2012/13.
My Qualifications
I have no formal childcare qualifications as I was focusing on my A levels the 2 years before I went straight into my first nanny post but I believe that experience with children is worth more than qualifications, especially as I can provide flawless references as well as my reviews on here!
I have a paediatric first aid certificate and full UK driving licence and my own car.
My Availability
I am currently only available for afternoon/evening and weekend babysitting.

My Fees
- Nannying from £12.00 per hour (net)
- Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
For evening babysitting between 6pm and 12am I charge £10 an hour, for weekends and anything during the daytime or after midnight it is £12 an hour.

Lydia got on wonderfully with my daughter while I was working long hours. She was great fun and came up with creative things to do. We are sad that she has moved from the area.
Overall
Lydia has worked for us as both a nanny and a babysitter for various periods between 2015 and 2018. She does a very good job and easily connected with the children. We'd definitely recommend her.

Overall
Lydia nannied for us part time from Oct 2018 - July 2019 the children liked her and so did we. She was competent at looking after our three children aged 7,2 and 2 while we worked. She communicated with us clearly by mobile phone and there were never any issues which we were unhappy about when she was looking after out little ones. She is an excellent catch as a nanny!

Overall
This was a short notice request. Lydia was excellent arrived early and handled Theo our 11 year old son with skill. Football and a game of hide & seek around the college.
I cannot recommend her more highly.
