About Me
Hello and welcome!
My name is Charlene, and I’m an experienced childcare professional with over 13 years’ experience providing exceptional home-based childcare for babies, toddlers, pre-school and school-aged children across the London Borough of Barnet.
Choosing childcare for your child is one of the biggest decisions you’ll make as a parent, so I understand just how important it is to find someone you can genuinely trust. My aim has always been to provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating home-from-home environment where children feel loved, secure, valued and excited to learn every single day.
Throughout my career, I have built a reputation for providing outstanding childcare, and the majority of my business has always grown through recommendations from happy families – something I am incredibly proud of. Many of the children I cared for remained with me for several years, with younger brothers and sisters later joining my setting. Even today, many of those families still keep in touch, and some of the children I looked after years ago still ask after me. Knowing I have made such a lasting difference to their lives is one of the greatest compliments I could ever receive.
Most recently, I provided full-time childcare for the children of a family working within elite professional sport, supporting three young brothers over an 18-month period during an exceptionally challenging time following the loss of their mother. This role required complete discretion, flexibility, reliability, compassion and a calm, nurturing approach, reinforcing the trust families place in my care.
Following this rewarding role, I am delighted to be reopening my childcare setting from September 2026. I look forward to welcoming new families and creating the same warm, nurturing and stimulating environment that so many children have enjoyed over the past 13 years.
As well as being an experienced childcare professional, I’m also a proud mum. Watching my own daughter grow into a confident, independent and successful young woman has reinforced my belief that children thrive when they are given consistency, encouragement, clear boundaries and unconditional support. Every child is unique, and I believe it’s our role as adults to help them develop confidence, resilience and the belief that they can achieve whatever they set their minds to.
Parents often describe me as warm, calm, organised, reliable and approachable. I believe excellent communication is just as important as excellent childcare, so you’ll always know how your child has spent their day, what they’ve been learning, the progress they’re making and, most importantly, that they are happy.
Our days are filled with fun, laughter and learning. We enjoy arts and crafts, messy play, baking, reading, music, singing, local parks, playgroups, nature walks and a wide variety of age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity, independence and confidence while supporting every child’s development through play.
Whether you’re returning to work, looking for your child’s very first childcare setting or simply searching for someone who will care for your child as if they were one of their own, my promise is to provide a genuine home-from-home environment where your child will feel safe, encouraged and truly cared for.

My Experience
I have over 13 years’ experience as an Ofsted-registered childcare professional, caring for babies, toddlers, pre-school and school-aged children within a safe, nurturing and educational home environment.
During that time, I built a successful childcare business in Barnet, caring for dozens of families and hundreds of children. The majority of my enquiries came through recommendations from happy parents, and many families remained with me for several years before returning with younger brothers and sisters.
Throughout my career, I have supported children through every stage of their early development, helping them build confidence, independence, strong social skills and a love of learning before starting school.
Following a planned break from running my childcare setting, I continued providing full-time childcare until July 2026 for a family working within elite professional sport. Over an 18-month period, I cared for three young brothers during an exceptionally difficult time following the loss of their mother. This role required complete discretion, flexibility, compassion, reliability and the ability to provide consistency and emotional security when the children needed it most.
Earlier in my career, I was also privileged to support another family following the loss of their children’s mother, reinforcing my belief that childcare is about far more than supervision. It’s about creating a safe, stable and loving environment where children feel secure, understood and able to thrive, whatever life brings.
One of the things I am most proud of is the relationships I’ve built over the years. Many of the children I cared for still remember me, and their parents continue to keep in touch long after their childcare journey ended. Knowing that I have remained a positive part of their lives is one of the greatest compliments I could ever receive.
Every child deserves to feel safe, valued and encouraged to become the very best version of themselves, and I consider it a privilege to play a part in that journey.

Charlene is amazing at her job. She seems to genuinely love caring for children and going out of her way to ensure all the children she is caring for feel comfortable and relaxed. I am a single father due to my partner passing away. My son, who was 3, when I first approached Charlene for her services, was very emotionally needy due to the recent bereavement, and Charlene gave him the care he was so much in need of. I highly recommend her services

Charlene was absolutely wonderful with my 3/4 year old son. She was his first ever childminder, yet he ran into her house every day looking forward to seeing her.
My son has behaviour problems and is being assessed for ADHD, Charlene was able to provide the right setting and structure to accommodate all his needs. She is patient, kind and has a loving gentle approach with the children, you can see this is genuine too.
Charlene's daughter is also a very loving kind girl who my son adored.

My daughter was in Charlene’s care for 4 years, from the age of 8 months & still keeps in touch.
Charlene creates a relaxed, nurturing setting for kids.

This childminder is AMAZING! I actually wanted to write a review from the minute I met her. Instantly likeable, great environment for children to "be children" in. So warm and my son took to her instantly. A true professional and has all the right safeguarding and other measures in place, yet so upbeat and such fun. Is flexible around your needs and of course your child's needs.
What dream! This is definitely a calling and not a job for her. Thanks for making our lives so much more manageable.

Charlene has been a wonderful childminder to my children. She is completely professional and very flexible which is a huge bonus. She understands how important it is that parents feel relaxed about their childcare. She always checks back and has excellent communication skills. I highly recommend. And she accepts childcare vouchers. My kids had a lovely time.

Charlene made my return to work sooo easy with her caring and outstanding skills as a childminder. She is loving, especially to the children, kind and professional. She is simply amazing. My son absolutely loves going there every morning. He has formed great relationships with the other children there including Charlene’s daughter. As a parent leaving your child with someone you don’t personally know is the hardest thing to do let alone as a first time parent but Charlene made that transition easy and smooth. She provides the children with a home away from home, a fun and educational environment. My husband and I have clearly noticed a lot of growth from when our son started at 16months old to now 33months old. You won’t find a better childminder anywhere else.

My wife deserves some free time, so we decided to find a good childminder. Like all the parents we were very afraid and uncertain. But from the first moment we knew that we will choose Charlene. She is calm, always smiling and know how to care children. And an important thing is that she has all the necessary qualifications what makes her even more reliable.
I'm sure we couldn't find anybody better. We are happy that Charlene is our babysitter.

Charlene has been looking after my daughter on a part time basis for 8 months now, since my daughter was 10 months old. As most parents would be, I was nervous about leaving my daughter at such a young age but Charlene put me at ease straight away with her friendly and approachable manner and my daughter quickly settled into the mummydaycare family.
Charlene is kind and professional, and has created a fun and loving environment for the children. My daughter's skills and vocabulary have developed significantly since being in Charlene's care - she is confident, friendly, caring and adores playing with all the other children, not least Charlene's daughter who is like a big sister. When I mention Charlene or one of the other children who Charlene looks after, it is often met with a happy cheer from my daughter - she is always excited to see them.
When my daughter has gone through changes in sleeping, teething or giving up her beloved dummy, Charlene has always been flexible and happy to assist in anyway possible which has made life a lot easier. She is also great at updating me with activities my daughter has been doing and created a fantastic scrap book with photos and personal comments from Charlene and her assistant Gemma - it is lovely to read and know your child is happy and having fun.
I would highly recommend Charlene and feel very lucky to have found her!
