About Me

Hello, my name is Nicola Booker, and I have been a passionate and dedicated childminder since 2008. I am married with a 21-year-old daughter who is currently studying at university in America, so I truly understand the importance of providing a nurturing and supportive environment for your child’s development.

Over the years, I have received two Outstanding inspections and, most recently, a Strong Standard in all areas in 2026, which reflects my commitment to offering high-quality care.

I provide a warm, home-from-home setting where children feel safe, valued, and supported. My focus is on enabling each child to grow and develop to their full potential through positive encouragement, praise, and a variety of stimulating activities. I offer experiences that promote fine and gross motor skills, communication and language development, personal, social, and emotional development (PSED), as well as activities that build independence and confidence—all tailored to each child’s age and stage of development.

We enjoy a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, including visits to the beach, zoo, nature walks, and other engaging experiences that encourage exploration and learning. I also offer funded spaces to ensure that all children have access to quality early years care.

My Experience

As a fully trained 'Outstanding' Ofsted registered Childminder, now a 'Strong Standard' in all areas, I can offer your child that all important ‘Home from Home’ environment.

I have a fully stocked playroom, garden, sleep room and downstairs cloakroom.

My Qualifications

Ofsted registered, I have completed a Diploma in Childcare (Home-based), and fully insured holding certificates for First Aid, Safeguarding Children and Food Hygiene. My development is on going and attend regular training courses appropriate.

A fantastic childminder

Nicola has looked after my little boy for one and a half days a week since just before his first birthday. He is now three. She is kind and caring and has really encouraged him to be independent and to develop his skills in all areas set out in EYFS. The children visit toddler groups and have structured play at her house which is well equipped both inside and out. She keeps us informed of our child's day with a diary and she sends home regular newsletters. She recently and quite rightly received an outstanding from OFSTED and our little boy loves her!
