About Me
Hello, my name is Kim.
I have been working in childcare for 18+ years and absolutely love my job and find it very rewarding.
I started childminding working alongside my mum who has been a childminder for 30+ years. I then moved to London for 6 years and worked as an Ofsted registered Nanny.
I then relocated back to Bedford (Brickhill) in November 2016 and am working in a joint set up with my mum again and we co run playdays childcare.
I am 35 years old. I am a confidant fun and bubbly person who is loving and caring. I love working with children and babies and I think of my job as an extended family. :)
I live in a 4 bedroom house with a large fully enclosed garden in Brickhill. We have a lovley separate play room that is set up especially for childminding.
I have 2 young sons.
My Experience
I am used to working in sole charge of up to 6 children at any one time and I look after children from birth - 8 years.
I love to take part in activities that encourage childrens development. I provide a happy, loving environment with plenty of fun! I like to take the children in my care on outings and trips from muddy puddle jumping and messy play to parks, zoos and seasonal trips to see Santa, feed the lambs in spring ect.
I have qualifications through the NCMA (national childminding association) including a diploma in home based childcare.
I am first aid qualified and i have a full clean UK driving licence.
I am Ofsted registered.

Kim Ferguson was our nanny from September 2014 to September 2016. She started with us when our daughter was five months old, and our son two-and-half years old.
I cannot express how grateful we feel that Kim provided so much love, affection and guidance to our children. She was a pivotal member of our family for two years, literally keeping us sane while entertaining, feeding, and nurturing our children.
Kim has such a way with kids: she covers them in kisses, does playful little games, silly dances behing the kitchen bench - in other words she provides them all the safe love that children crave - but at the same time she’s able to set boundaries and makes sure that the kids are well-behaved. We have learnt so, so much watching her.
Every morning, Kim would come in the kitchen, check that she had the ingredients fo the kids’ teatime, and would start preparing their lunch. She was so proactive, so organised, but also able to improvise if we were missing out an ingredient.
Our kids enjoyed doing many different activities with her: playdoh, painting, painting in the bath (a brilliant idea which we would have never thought of), creating objects out of toilet rolls. Or simply going to the park. Or to central London (SeaLife Centre, the Royal Festival Hall, …).
An anecdote which says it all: I rememer showing my then 4 yo my necklace which has three rings with names on them: one for my husband, one for my son and another one for my daughter. His first question was: what about Kim, why is she not on the necklace too?
All in all, we couldn’t have been happier with Kim and warmly recommend her to anyone wishing to employ her as a nanny or childminder.
