Bluebell Montessori childminding
I am a qualified Early years Montessori Teacher with over 16 years childcare experience. I speak English and Brazilian Portuguese.
I follow the Montessori method, a child centred educational approach focused on respecting a child's natural psychological development, fostering independence, self discipline and a lifelong love of learning by nurturing the whole child—socially, emotionally, and intellectually. Emphasis on hands-on, child-led learning in a prepared environment, allowing children to develop at their own pace, boosting confidence and critical thinking.
We follow the seasonal rhythms, aligning learning with the natural, environmental, and temporal cycles of the year. Helping to foster holistic development, scientific enquiry, and emotional well-being. Whether it be playing with ice in Winter, puddle jumping in the Spring, chasing leaves in the Autumn or looking for insects in the Summer, each season offers different invitations or affordances.
I offer lots of opportunities for art and craft activities. Which helps to boost creativity, critical thinking and fine motor skills, enhance cognitive abilities and supports emotional well-being.

Amber has looked after my son since he was a young baby and he is now about to start school. She is flexible and kind, she is child led and follows my son’s interests and is open to any sort of imaginary play. There have been a few days when I’ve forgotten to pack my son a lunch and she gives him a healthy meal - which is so kind and just shows what a wonderful person she is. She also used to be a baby photographer so the photos she sends every day are so beautiful! I could frame them all. I wholeheartedly recommend Amber and her wonderful care. She truly loves children and this shines through in all her interactions with them - when we see her in public my son is so excited and she always looks so pleased to see him. If you are lucky enough to have a place with Amber - you won’t regret it.

I first contacted Amber when my daughter was 6 months old. I am self employed and needed ad hoc care so I could go back to work on odd days here and there.
Amber was warm and welcoming from our first communications. I felt immediately at ease when I met her and also liked that her home was clean and tidy.
She is calm, nurturing and just so lovely. My daughter spent 1 year with Amber before they decided to move house. The home from home environment meant I didn't worry about leaving her. I knew she would be taken care of like one of her own daughters.
When Amber told us they were moving house we were devastated. I don't think we will find another childminder as good. Unfortunately she has set the standard so high and we can't help by compare everyone else to her.
If you are lucky enough to get a space with Amber, you will have the best there is.
