About Me

Hi, I’m Eleanor and I have a lifelong passion for caring for and educating children. I started babysitting for a family with 3 children at the tender age of 13 (and even took one for his first haircut!), led all the children’s activities at my Saturday and then part-time job in a local library and then trained as a teacher. I taught in the classroom for 9 years - early years class teacher, subject leader and early years phase leader. I now run my own tutoring business.

Babysitting:

I am available to babysit children of any age. I am most experienced with children between newborn age and age 8 but I love all ages and have always been able to easily build trust and rapport with young people; I genuinely love being and working with them. I can be quite flexible with my time and am available most evenings.

Tutoring:

Does your little one need a boost during Nursery, Reception or Year 1? Or some extra challenge? I'm the tutor for you :)

I taught in early years for 9 years including being an early years phase leader. I also have experience teaching in Nursery and Year 1. Teaching is my lifelong passion and I have now left the school classroom to run my own tutoring business.

I started off tutoring several years ago with a nursery age child who then successfully gained a place at a very well regarded Dulwich private school. I currently have regular tutees who are in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.

I make learning fun, inclusive and effective and am graded as an "Outstanding" teacher. I have experience with all levels of ability. I can help your child thrive.

I am accustomed to adapting to different needs and always include the opportunities for students to learn in varying ways - none of us are the same!

Depending on the requirements of the learner I can use a very play based style of learning, a more structured approach or a combination of the two, whilst always making it a joy.

I have a passion for ensuring children love and are able to access education in their earliest years thereby setting the foundations of success and empowerment for their future.

To clarify, I am available as a babysitter and as a tutor, both of which I have extensive experience in.
