About Me
PLEASE NOTE MY VACANCY IS FOR 6 MONTHS
Hi, I have been graded OUTSTANDING in my last 4 Ofsted inspections (last inspection Feb 2022) and I am passionate about providing children with the best possible care. I provide children with a warm, stimulating environment with a variety of fun activities. I have a large garden and dedicated playroom. Most days I take the children out to the various parks, woods, toddlers, and cooking club. We like to read books, do craft activities and grow things. I have 5 hens and a friendly cockapoo. The children enjoy feeding the hens as well as collecting the eggs. I usually follow the children's interests and 'plan in the moment' however we also learn about events on the cultural calendar, (e.g. Chinese New Year, Easter, Diwali, Holi etc) and investigate seasons.
It is important to me that the children feel loved, cared for and have fun. I believe children should be treated as individuals and that the parents and carer should work in partnership. I regularly ask parents for their input and use this information to personalise the care of each child to match their needs and wishes.
I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and monitor each child's progress.
I am fully qualified and fully insured. I have studied Speech, Language & Communication (level 3) and gained 'Communication Friendly Award'. I deliver regular 'Lift off to language' sessions, to encourage children's communication and language skills. I have recently completed my PANCo (Physical Activity Nutrition Co-ordinator -level 4) training and I'm now a Start Life Well accredited setting.

My Experience
I started Childminding in 2002 when a friend suggested it to me.
I have previously looked after children who have had selective muteness, dyspraxia and used sign language.
My Qualifications
I am fully qualified with an NVQ level 3 in Early Years Care and Education, I also gained my Certificate in Childminding Practice (also level 3). I have completed my level 3 in Speech Language and communication. I have been awarded Bedfordshire's Communication Friendly Award. I am trained in first aid for childcare and I am fully insured. I have a NCFE Cache Level 4 qualification in Promoting Health and Well-Being Through Physical Activity and Nutrition Co-ordination in Early Years (PANCO) and have a Start-Well Gold Award accreditation.
I have attended over 100 short courses including safeguarding children (child protection), food hygiene, disability awareness, language and communication, fire safety, allergies and anaphylactic shock and Early Years Foundation Stage plus many others. I continue to train regular to keep up to date.

My Fees
- Childminding from £7.00 per hour
My fees are inclusive of outings and food. They do not include nappies, wipes, baby milk.
I am registered with tax free childcare scheme and can offer 30 hours funded childcare places for all age groups as per the governments criteria. The funded provision does not include meals and outings and a voluntary donation is requested.

We came to Paulette at a time of desperate need when our daughter had been in hospital with meningitis and really needed some loving care in her recovery. She has some restrictive dietary needs and her care all round had been appalling at a local nursery. Paulette has offered stable, loving and responsive care which our daughter has thrived in. She has gone from strength to strength in Paulette's care - emotionally, physically and mentally.
Paulette is able to offer intuitive care based on a child's needs whilst still incorporating their needs within the care she offers to other children in her care. In addition to being loving and caring, Paulette has a professional approach to all she does and provides all policies, procedures and information to parents for regular review.
We cannot praise and thank Paulette enough for the way she has supported our daughter and our family. She is a rare gem!

My twins have been attending Paulette's setting since 2012 since they were a year old. They always look forward to attending as it is like their second home and second family! They have made firm friends with the other children who attend, some of which attend the same school. There is always something for them to do; activities, outings, reading/writing - I know they are kept busy as they sleep well! Paulette provides a "home-from-home" setting in a lovely atmosphere with her family in a designated playroom, all their needs are catered for, from food to health and safety. She has the experience and qualifications to give me piece of mind when they are in her setting. She also provided a Month-by-Month "Learning Journey" with the EYFS, noting observations (both visual and written) and giving you to opportunity to comment and areas that need a little bit of help; providing ideas and inspiration pre-school and also provided a general written log, so any information was captured. This was invaluable to me as although I was absent, I learnt what they had been doing and special little things they had said and done! Paulette presented me with their folders when my two started school, I thought that was brilliant as a keepsake! I would not hesitate whatsoever to recommend her to prospective parents and we look forward to attending in the future.

It is hard to put into words what a fantastic caregiver Paulette is. I have used both private day nurseries and preschool's and lower/middle schools and have to say without a doubt that the care provided for small children by Paulette is exemplary. The environment provided is both homely and has the facilities of nursery provision, the outside space and playroom provide a lovely environment and facilities. Her imagination, variety of activities and ability to personalise her service to each individual child is impressive. The mechanisms she uses for feedback to parents is effective, giving a written daily overview for each child plus a verbal handover on collection. This enables continuity of care and development for my child.
Paulette gets to know the children very well and has her own special bond with each of them. She has a positive and calm personality, her family are used to having child-minded children in their home and are a credit to her as a parent, they are welcoming and well mannered adding to the warm and friendly setting.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Paulette as a childminder, in over three years caring for my daughter she constantly exceeds my expectations. When my child first started attending Paulette's aged under 1, she used to ask at weekends to 'go to Paulettes', it's obviously a fun place to be. My child has never shown any reluctance to attend from the day she started. Paulette is a wonderful person and a real credit to the childcare profession.

Firstly, if there was an outstanding option on the drop down menu, I would of selected it. To select "Good" doesn't cover how fantastic a childmider Paulette is. I have known Paulette since January 2007, my daughter was 17 months old when she started with Paulette and she is now 5 and still attends Paulette's during the school holidays. Paulette also looks after my 20 month old son. I believe Paulette offers a first rate childminding service and I feel 100% comfortable to leave my children in her care. They are welcomed into her family and in no time at all feel like Paulette's house is home from home. The activities Paulette covers are amazing from cooking, craft, gardening, messy play, music, and so much more. Both my children experience & learn about the different cultures in our society today and celebrate all feast days.
To know that my children are happy, safe, and very well looked after, makes it easier on me as a parent to leave them each day.
I would highly recommend Paulette to anyone who is in need of childcare.
