About Me
Hello, I’m Kerry, an Ofsted-registered childminder based in Kingswinford. I live with my two wonderful daughters, Abigail and Freya, and together we have a happy, loving and welcoming family home.
My aim is to provide a safe, caring, stimulating and fun environment where every child feels happy, secure and valued. I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for your child, so I strive to create a warm home-from-home atmosphere where children can settle in, build confidence and enjoy learning through play.
Learning Through Play
I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and support children across the seven areas of learning and development.
Every child is unique, so activities and experiences are planned around their individual interests, needs and stage of development. Children are encouraged to explore, make choices, develop their independence and, most importantly, have fun while they learn.
My home offers plenty of indoor and outdoor space along with a wide variety of age-appropriate toys, books, games and resources for children to enjoy.
Activities & Adventures
No two days have to be the same! I provide a varied range of activities and experiences, including:
* Arts and crafts
* Creative and messy play
* Seasonal activities and celebrations
* Indoor and outdoor play
* Toddler groups
* Soft play
*Trips to the zoo etc
* Library visits and Rattle & Rhyme sessions
* Weekly visits to Sycamore Adventure
Getting out and about is an important part of our week. These outings give children opportunities to explore their local community, meet other children, develop their social skills and experience new things.
A Caring Home-from-Home
Above all, I want the children in my care to feel safe, happy and included.
I work closely with parents and carers to provide consistent, individual care and to make sure each child has the opportunity to thrive, develop and create lots of happy memories along the way.
Ofsted Inspection History
I’m proud to have consistently achieved a Good Ofsted grading:
28 August 2013 — Good
11 January 2017 — Good
13 October 2022 — Good
I look forward to welcoming you and your little one and giving you the opportunity to find out more about my childminding setting.
My Experience
Before becoming a childminder, I worked as a Senior Teaching Assistant for 14 years, supporting children and young people from birth to 18 years old. In fact, I have worked with children in a variety of settings since I was 16, giving me many years of valuable experience.
I also have extensive experience working with children with special educational needs and understand the importance of providing individual care and support to meet each child’s unique needs.
I have been a registered childminder since March 2013 and absolutely love what I do. Alongside my professional experience, I am also a proud mum to my two lovely daughters, which has given me even more experience, understanding and appreciation of the joys and challenges of caring for children.
My aim is to provide a safe, happy, caring and nurturing environment where every child feels welcomed, valued and encouraged to learn, play and develop at their own pace.

Kerry has been childninding my son from the age of 1 until he will start school this September. He is so well settled and happy with kerry, and has been from the start. Kerry provides a lovely range of activities and outings, keeping the children learning and laughing all the time. We will be very sad when he leaves for his big school in September. Can't praise and recommend kerry enough, shes just fantastic 🥰

Twelve months ago I was desperatly looking for childcare for my little boy. I'd taken him out of a Day Nursery and was having no luck finding a child minder I felt comfortable leaving him with. That was until I found Kerry. After a phone call, she invited us round to her home to meet her family, that evening. We felt so comfortable talking to Kerry and Andy. It was as though we'd know them both years! Since then we haven't looked back and charlie has been part of Kerrys extented family ever since! Being a teacher myself, I can see how much work Kerry puts into the job! She knows her stuff and plans enriching activities and opportunities that are geared to 'your' childs development.
Each night I get a detailed diary of Charlies day. Not just a list of the foods he's eaten and what he's done on the toilet but a personal account of his day, with the things he's enjoyed and the funny things he's said.
In July we had to say an emotional farewell as I was starting maternity leave. We have kept in touch with Kerry, who I now consider to be a family friend, and my little baby girl has just stared her settling in sessions!
As I expected, Charlie is really pleased to be spending time with Kerry and the gang again. Heidi, his little was full of smiles during her first session this week. When I collected her she was every bit the contented little baby. Kerry is a natural!
So if your looking for someone to care for your children whilst you are at work, Kerry is a perfect choice! Forget the day nursery's with there regimented routines and go with Kerry, a mother who has raised two lovely children of her own and who sees your child as an individual little character!
We feel blessed to have found her!
