Part Time Nanny Job In Hull
About Me
I'm a disabled parent looking for someone to support me and my daughter in our day-to-day life. I have limited mobility and energy. My daughter is a gorgeous, sometimes challenging 10-year-old who loves Harry Potter, computer games and dancing. She's autistic, often anxious and has Selective Mutism.
I’m looking for somebody to join the little team of people who help us live a wonderful life despite my illness.
My Requirements
Just now (Spring 2026) we're looking for somebody who can drive to help us with our evening routines, including transporting my daughter to after-school activities. We especially need help on Wednesdays and Thursdays after school, but may have other shifts available if wanted.
If you did a full evening shift, some of this would be one-to-one support of my daughter, and the rest of the time would involve supporting me with housework and cooking tasks - but if you are only interested in the childcare side of the role and can drive, do get in touch and we can discuss that option with shorter hours.
Due to the council funding setup, we can pay £13.92/hour for shifts which involve direct care of my daughter, and £17/hour for all other shifts.
Essential:
- Self-employed, or willing to be self-employed*
- A patient, caring & flexible approach
- Car driver
- Available regularly on Wednesdays & Thursdays after school, ideally 2.55-9.15pm though if you can only do a shorter shift, that could still be helpful!
- Usually available for ad-hoc shifts Mondays 3.20-9.15pm
- Available to continue shifts during most of the school holidays
Desirable:
- Available to start the Wednesday and Thursday shifts at 11am
- Available Fridays, 11am-9pm (often this would be a shorter shift within this time, depending on my plans)
- Available for shifts on Saturdays and Sundays if needed
- Available to take on extra shifts during most school holidays
- Available to often cover shifts when other PAs are unwell: usual times are Mon-Fri 7am-11am, 11-1.30pm and 2.45-9pm and Sundays, 8am-2pm or 3-9pm
- Experience working with children
- Available to do some additional evening babysitting as required (usually between 6pm and 11pm)
- Some experience in supporting people who are disabled; autistic or have chronic illness or selective mutism.
We can be flexible with the lengths of shifts for the right person, and can probably offer additional regular and/or ad-hoc hours if you wanted to work more hours each week.
*The council ask to see the following as proof of self-employment
- A unique taxpayer reference number (which you get when you register as self-employed on the government website)
- Typed invoices every 4 weeks with your name, address and details of hours/dates worked
- Proof of self-employed carers insurance (which usually costs around £70/year or can be paid monthly.)
