My Summary

My Experience

I have previous experience working with children in a number of different settings. I have had placements in both nurseries and abroad in a child care centre. My responsibilities in each position have varied slightly, but included taking children to the toilets, and changing younger children. Helping to prepare meals, and assisting in what could be manic meal times! Soothing children for naps, and keeping children entertained by playing games and reading books with them.

I have also spent time working in primary schools, helping teach children on a one to one basis, and in a small groups. I spent a particularly great deal of time working with children in sports settings, motivating them to be involved in sports and learn maybe important skills such as team work.

My roles have included responsibilities such as, taking and collecting children from various activities, helping with homework and providing dinner, I also help with many household tasks. These include food shopping, washing and cleaning the house.

When looking after young children I try to engage with them as much as possible, and find new and fun ways to help provide them with entertainment and interaction to help with their development. In my previous role looking after children of this age I was responsible for all meals, naps and bathing and putting a child to bed, as well as their general care and happiness. Furthermore I have also had a number of experiences in nursery settings with children of this age, helping keep them entertained, while trying to progress their learning and development. Furthermore I help with mealtimes and tidying up as well as children’s sleep routine.

My Qualifications

I have various previous experience working with children.
BA in Childhood Studies graduated in 2016
PG Dip in Social Work completed in March 2021
