Hello There,
My name is Katy and I run 'Katy's House Wrap Around and School Holiday Care'

I am an OFSTED registered childminder, however my services are different from a regular childminder. Ì have set up to support families with childcare requirements outside of the school day and school term time. I take children for before and after school care from Arnold Mill Primary and Nursery School and will take children from all schools for holiday care.
I have cared for children for the last 14 years, ranging from birth-16years. This has included working in a Nursery through to working in a Secondary school.
I also offer a babysitting service.

Based at my home address on Redhill Road Arnold, I live with my husband and 2 children, Niamh and Lochlan, we have a beautiful home and are close to the local amenities, meaning where possible I like to take the children out to parks/local library/shops etc.
It is important to me that my home-from-home environment offers the warmth and relaxation that kids need after a mentally and physically exhausting day at school.
During the wrap around session there will be a variety of games, toys, puzzles and education games on offer along with the Wii, film time, books etc. I will offer support with homework, reading and spellings where possible.
Our holidays will be packed full of Fun ensuring they are entertained the whole time. We take day trips to places such as the beach, sporting events, farms, museums etc. Where possible I will incorperate topics from school into the activities that are available to keep the continuity between school and Katy's house, as sometimes the 6 week holidays can really break routine.
I prepare fresh meals daily for the children where we will all eat together. I also like to involve the children in the buying, preparing, cooking of our meals once a week. Basic life skills will be incorporated into their time with me which I feel are invaluable as they go through life.
I believe communication it crucial between school and parents. In the past with my child, I have found it so hard to communicate daily ie letters, development, behaviour etc when relying on the before and after school club provider to relay this information so this is something that is a focus when collecting your child from school.
I can also offer additional support, the support a child needs for things like sports days, nativity and talent shows when sometimes a parent can't make it due to work commitments
