Childminder in Wotton Under Edge (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
Beau Belles Wotton Childcare
Ofsted Registered Childminder | Central Wotton-under-Edge
Welcome to Beau Belles Wotton Childcare – a warm, nurturing and home-from-home childcare setting in the heart of Wotton-under-Edge.
I have been a childminder for over 19 years and genuinely love what I do. I feel incredibly lucky to spend my days helping young children grow, learn, explore and develop their confidence in a safe, happy and caring environment.
? Strong Ofsted Record
I am very proud of my Ofsted history:
February 2026 – Strong Standard under Ofsted's revised grading framework introduced in November 2025 (equivalent to the previous Outstanding grade)
2015 – Outstanding
2011 – Outstanding
February 2020 – Good
My aim has always been to provide high-quality childcare where children feel secure, valued and happy, while giving them the freedom to learn through play and everyday experiences.
? A Home-from-Home Environment
Beau Belles is based in my three-storey, four-bedroom family home in central Wotton-under-Edge. I provide a welcoming, relaxed and stimulating environment where children can enjoy their day as part of a small, friendly group.
We have a safe and secure garden with plenty of opportunities for outdoor play, including sand and water play, outdoor toys, digging, planting and exploring nature.
Inside, children have access to a wide range of age-appropriate activities and resources, including creative activities, messy play, books, puzzles, construction, imaginative play and opportunities to develop their independence.
? Learning Through Play
I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and carefully observe each child to understand their individual interests, needs, strengths and next steps.
Learning is incorporated naturally into our everyday activities, rather than feeling like formal lessons. Whether we're baking, painting, exploring the garden, looking at books, counting conkers on a walk or simply playing together, there are always opportunities to learn.
I plan activities around the individual children in my care, while also following their interests and allowing plenty of time for child-led play.
? Lots of Adventures!
We love being outdoors and getting out and about!
Our days can include walks, picnics, nature exploring, local parks, toddler groups, soft play and trips and outings. I have annual memberships for:
WWT Slimbridge
Old Down Country Park
Concorde Museum
Westonbirt, The National Arboretum
National Trust
These memberships give us fantastic opportunities to explore, discover and learn throughout the year, whatever the season.
I believe children learn so much from being out in the world – experiencing nature, meeting people, seeing new things and simply having lots of fun together.
? Part of Our Family
Children become part of our family life while they are with me. We have two friendly cats and a small Jack Russell/Dachshund cross, who are very much part of the Beau Belles family.
I live with my husband and our daughter, who is home during university holidays.
?? A Place to Grow, Learn & Have Fun
At Beau Belles, my priority is that every child feels safe, secure, happy, valued and cared for.
I want children to look forward to coming through the door each morning, knowing that they are going to have fun, make friends, explore, get messy, learn new things and enjoy lots of exciting experiences.
With nearly two decades of experience, I understand that choosing childcare is a big decision for parents. I pride myself on building strong, trusting relationships with families, keeping communication open and making sure parents feel confident that their child is receiving the very best care.
Opening hours:
Tuesday–Friday | 7.30am–5.30pm From September 2025
If you are looking for a warm, experienced and highly regarded childminder in Wotton-under-Edge, I would love to hear from you and arrange a visit so you can come and see what Beau Belles is all about.
My Experience
My Experience
I have over 30 years’ experience caring for babies and young children, both as a parent and, for the past 19 years, as an Ofsted-registered childminder. I am also a very proud grandma to my grandson, Rafael, who was born in August 2019 (presently living in Portugal).
Over the years, I have had the pleasure of caring for many children, from babies as young as four months old through to school age, including siblings and children requiring additional support. I have also supported children with a range of dietary requirements, including gluten-free, vegetarian and lactose-free diets.
I currently care for six children aged from 12 months to 4 years, creating a small, friendly and nurturing environment where every child is known as an individual.
I understand that every family has different needs, which is why I aim to be flexible and accommodating wherever possible. I work closely with parents to establish routines and arrangements that fit in with their family life, while always ensuring that children's individual needs remain at the heart of my care.

For children aged 0–5 years, I offer a variety of childcare arrangements, including:

School core hours (9.00am–3.00pm)

Hermione provides such a caring and fun environment and we are super impressed by the amount she fits into the day. My little boy, C has been with Hermione since September 2010. Hermione came highly recommended to me by many people. I have been really happy with the level of care so far. C was not shy when he started and settled in really quickly. Hermione has a very calm and caring approach which helped. Hermione does an amazing array of activities with C. He is learning a lot about different cultures and themes. They recently celebrated Chinese New Year. Hermione is very pro-active about taking the children out regularly. C goes swimming, playgroups and shopping often. He also loves going to slimbridge to feed the birds and Westonbirt. There are lots of art and craft and cooking activities too. The things C has made at Christmas were just gorgeous.
C enjoys the family atmosphere at Hermiones. He loves the children and is always reluctant to leave at the end of the day
Hermione has a lovely home and family. I am so happy to leave my son and know he is being so well looked after. (6 month contract)

My daughter M has been coming to Hermiones for the past few years on a part time basis. M loves just about everything they do at Hermiones. All the trips, cooking, arts and crafts. She has settled in well with Hermione and enjoys the company of all the other children. As a result of the excellent care that Hermione has given to M, i have now asked Hermione to look after my younger son whilst im at college. My daughter is 10 and still comes to Hermiones for after school care during term time. (on going contract since 2005).

Many thanks for all your care and support given to both myself and my son over the past six months.
He has really loved coming to your house and settled in really quickly. He loves the daily outings, especially Old Down Park and the ice creams :)
Thank you also for looking after him at short notice to fit in with my ever-changing shift pattern. You really have 'bent over backwards' to accommodate us both.
We will miss you when he goes to school next month, but know that we will remain friends.
All the very best for the future. You have a fantastic set up and work hard to provide a top class service - you should be very proud of yourself, your children and all your mindees.

My son G started with Hermione about 6 weeks ago. It's his first time spent away from me and he is evidently loving it. The activities Hermione puts on for her mindees are great, and I love the photos and journal that she puts together. I feel relaxed knowing that G is in Hermione's care and am very pleased that she had a space available.

Having only used a nursery for my eldest daughter I have to say I was a little unsure of what to expect from a childminder. However, Hermione is so much more than a childminder. She offered reassurance and calmed my nerves at leaving my 10 month old on her first day - I neednt have worried though no tears from T all day. She slept, ate and played and even after 2 weeks still NO TEARS when I leave her, I'm almost slightly offended (!). I have to say I am staggered at how well she has settled, long may it continue. Thank you Hermione for making my first few weeks at work so much easier. Its been a huge weight of my shoulders to know I have a happy baby being cared for safely elsewhere while I can just get on and do my job. Happy beyond words! x

My little girl has been going to Hermione since July 2011 after being highly recommended from a family member. Since starting with Hermione O settled in straight away and that is down to the warm and loving atmosphere. O is always talking about what she has done at Hermione’s and is always asking when she will be going back. O only does 2 days a week but I think would love to be there everyday of the week, which makes me feel really good as I know O is very very happy with Hermione.
On collecting O we always have long conversations about what she has done that day and she is always excited to tell me. O loves all the activities that Hermione has planned like swimming, cooking, soft play, educational activities, crafts and much more. O come’s home with something new that she has done during the day and loves telling me all about it, whether it be a painting, cakes, bird feeder or Christmas crafts that O has been doing this month and much more.
Hermione also fills in a journal all about O's day which I love as I then have a record of what she has done each day. At the end of each month we also receive a newsletter that tells us what the children have been doing all month and what the plan is for the next, Hermione plans different activities each month depending on the month and what is being celebrated, I really love this as it is very educational and makes every month very different for O, I really look forward to receiving the newsletter.
I would highly recommend Hermione to all my friends and family and I feel very lucky that I have found her. Thank you so much for everything, me and O will be very sad to leave you.

I used Hermione for both my children over the past few years until they started school, and still do occasionally during school holidays when she has availability.
She is an excellent Childminder and extremely committed to providing the best possible care and support to the children she looks after. My youngest has to have a very special diet due to severe allergies, and she was very understanding and accommodating in our needs.
I can highly recommend Hermione and the services she offers. My children loved bringing home art work they had made, baking, digging up fresh vegetables in their garden allotment, trips out, swimming, and my eldest even learnt to ride a bike without stabilisers - he was so proud of his achievement and Hermione gave him a lovely certificate. It's these little things that make it so special at Hermiones.

Hermione childminded my son for 18 months. He was her first mindee back in 2006.
She offered a first class childcare facility - the children were always busy, active and having fun either within the home or out and about at organised activities.
I was always kept fully informed of James' day to day progress and activities and he seemed to learn something new every day - bringing home things he has made such as cards, paintings, art work, cookery, clay pots and the Christmas decorations were amazing and still come out each christmas, which are a constant reminder of the fun and love he received at Hermiones.
Her home is a lovely, warm and happy environment where all the children are visibly happy and content.
James loved his time at Hermiones and was completely unphased by his mummy leaving him in the mornings (in fact sometimes I wish he'd look as though he missed me just a little!!). Every day, he kept saying 'can I go to Hermiones'!
Hermiones attitude towards her role as childminder was meticulous and professional, as well as caring, warm and friendly. It is obvious that this is more than just a 'job' to her - all the children love her!
I cannot recommend Hermione enough. I feel so lucky to have found, in my opinion, the best childcare possible for my son.
We have moved away from the area now, but still keep in contact with Hermione and her family, and really miss them!!

Hermione looked after our daughter back in 2006 until 2009 when she went to school.
Hermione is a very caring childminder who is very devoted to what she does and genuinely cares for the wellbeing of the children.
I loved the fact that each day my daughter bought home a completed diary so i knew what she had done. A learning journal was also completed and it was lovely to look at and see all the milestones that had been reached. Hermione fully covers all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stages.
We also got a monthly newsletter which was really informative.
Having used Hermione for over three years I can say as a parent that she is an excellent childminder, very flexible, very understanding and I have no problem recommending her to other parent who want excellent care for their children. Hermione is loving, she put time into educating our daughter which to us is extremely important and she takes her to different activities that could help her develop. Our daughter loved being with her, she talks about her all the time.
I have just had a baby and I am glad that Hermione has agreed to look after him next year when he is a little older and i return to work. I have no doubt in my mind that Hermione will do a great job looking after him as she did with our daughter.
I thoroughly recommend Hermione and she certainly lives up to her recent ofsted 'outstanding'. well done, you deserve it!
