Everything was going well, our daughter had been with Julie from September, really enjoyed going and being taken on days out etc and was due to continue until July until our contract was cancelled with no notice- it was cancelled on the Friday so we were left with no childcare for the following week due to the childminder’s personal circumstances, despite the setting itself remaining open for other children. We had tried to be as understanding as possible of her personal circumstances yet still have no answer as to why it’s our daughter in particular who wasn’t allowed back and what the criteria was for this yet, she is still open to other children. This isn’t fair on my child as it has affected her continuity of care, she hasn’t even been able to say goodbye.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I am sincerely sorry that the conclusion of your daughter’s time in my care came as a surprise and caused disruption to your family. I fully appreciate how important continuity and a smooth transition are, particularly for young children.
The decision made regarding your daughters placement was not taken lightly. Due to the recent double bereavement I have experienced, I had to make a difficult and time-sensitive adjustment to ensure I could continue offering the best care and attention to all children at my setting. I understand how upsetting and disruptive this has been for your family, and I deeply regret that it led to an abrupt change in your daughter’s routine.
I understand your concern regarding the lack of explanation about the specific criteria used in this decision. Due to privacy considerations, I am not able to discuss individual details. However, I can assure you that the decision was based solely on what I believed was in the best interests of all children involved, including your daughter.
I regret that she was not able to return to the setting for a proper goodbye and fully acknowledge how difficult this must have been. I genuinely valued having her in my care and wish her nothing but happiness and success in her continued development.

Julie really is an outstanding childminder!
After our first son spent four very happy years in her care, there was no doubt about our choice of childminder for our second child!
She provides a safe, warm and welcoming environment for the children she cares for. Julie always plans days packed with fun visits, engaging activities and plenty of opportunities for the children to learn and develop.
Her communication with parents is great and she is a fountain of knowledge about all things child-related!
As a working mum it is so reassuring to see my son so excited about going to Julie’s house. He even asks to go at weekends!
We are very lucky to have such a wonderful childminder.

Julie has been really kind and patient with settling in my little boy. He hasn't found it easy to leave Mummy but persistence has paid off! Thanks Julie!
I love that my son experiences so much whilst at Julie's and he loves being outside so the country park trips are amazing for him. He wouldn't get that being at a nursery all day!
Julie communicates well with us and it's great to know the weekly plans so we can continue the topics at home.
We made a great decision in choosing Julie!

My son has had so many great experiences with Julie. She regularly takes the children out to toddler groups and parks and also organises lovely activities for them to do at her house too. My son has always been very happy when dropping him off and often doesn't want to leave when I pick him up. Me and my son will be very sad when he leaves Little Jewels.

My 17 month old daughter has been with Julie since June 2017 and i couldnt be happier with the care she receives. Julie provides a safe, secure and caring environment full of stimulating resources and equipment. She takes the children out to local playgroups, parks and plans fun and interesting activities.
I especially love the weekly plans and the online personal journal that gives me an insight into what my daughter has learnt and enjoyed during her time in Julies care.
I feel very comfortable in Julies home and feel I can talk to her about anything. She is very welcoming to parents and children alike.
From working in a day nursery myself i sought out a childminder we both felt happy and secure with and Julie has has been the best decision i could've made.
My daughter waves me off when I drop her at Julie's in the morning and is always smiling when I collect her.
Can't recommend Little Jewels Childcare enough x

Julie has been my daughter's childminder since she was just under a year old, and from day one we've been totally happy with our choice. The calm, relaxed and stimulating environment she provides made my daughter completely comfortable from the start. There are so many opportunities to play and learn, a huge range of toys for free play, and fun planned activities, as well as trips out.
Julie's communication regarding planning and day-to-day progress is excellent, and I feel I can discuss any issues with her as she is friendly and approachable. My daughter has a fantastic time with Julie and is coming on leaps and bounds. I would recommend Julie without hesitation and am so grateful for all she does.

Julie looks after my son during school holidays, and occasionally babysits for him in the evening. She provides a stimulating and caring environment, and offers a variety of activities and toy,s which are in accordance with my sons hobbies and interests. Julie also takes the children out on day trips to places such as Duxford Air Museum, Thames Chase and Rainham RSPB Nature Reserve. I have always found Julie to be approachable, easy to talk to, and my son in very happy in her care.
