About Us

Poverest Primary School is a two form entry, community school, dedicated not only to educational excellence, but also offers each child the opportunity to develop and excel in all areas of the National Curriculum and beyond. The head Teacher, Senior Leaders, staff and governors have high expectations for every pupil and are fully committed to equality of opportunity.

Parents are fully supported right the way through school, not only by the teaching staff but also by our Head of Pastoral care.

Poverest Primary School was rewarded "Good with an outstanding early years provision" in 2014 by Ofsted.

Our Childcare Provision

We appreciate the demands that working parents face with many of us being these ourselves. We are pleased to offer a daily breakfast club from 7.30am. A healthy breakfast and activities are offered before the children are taken to class. This is open to all children attending the school.

There is a nursery on site, provided by a private provider, Tiddlywinks Pre-school. Places are available for 2 year olds. The children who will attend Poverest Primary School in the next term are known as "The Butterflies". All the children are encouraged to participate in the main school events.

Parents are encouraged to arrange a school visit and should telephone the school office for further information.
